Golf MK7 Front View Camera, part 3: wiring through firewall

Guiding wires through #firewall in VW Golf #MK7 to connect front view camera from the engine bay to MIB2 unit in the cabin. Finding grommet above drivers footwell, adding ground connection for the camera, guiding #wiring to the front grill, accessing back of the VW Infotainment unit (MIB) in the passengers glovebox.
🚗 This project is made in 2015 Volkswagen Golf MK7 with MIB2 Discover Media infotainment system and retrofitted original RVC High camera. This is not a retrofit project, since this functionality was not available in for VW Golf MK7. Some other MQB vehicles had option of 360 AreaView feature with 4 cameras and 3D view. My project is a custom modification that I'm planning to make in my vehicle. I'm just sharing my progress and hope for your input.

Careful pulling that kick panel the clip can easily fall into the abyss behind it ask me how I know lmao 😂 had to use two flexible neo magnets to get it out, sure I could have brought another for a few bucks it was the rattling that would have drove me crazy 🤪 great video as always @mrfix

My golf r has the abs module right behind the battery and in trying to push 0 gauge wire through the same place you did I popped the grommet out into the engine bay with no idea of what it looked like it took like 4 hours to get the grommet reseated goof grief that was traumatic hahaha, I'm right hand drive so not sure if that's why, you seem to have a master cylinder or booster there but not quiet as in the way as what I endured but thanks for the inspiration and also the interior shot you showed with a peice of black spongey foam where you'd peeled the interior foam back and that helped me a lot bud thankyou because I had no idea where it came from in my rage and frustration I just put it aside then lost track I was so focused on getting the grommet back in before it rained or anything. I was actually scared I'd be off to VW dealer 🤣 I feel confident now but need good weather and will push through from inside after poking a fishing line type thing through and will lubricate the 0 guague wire so it slips easily the the grommet you used originally. Do you think i could find a part number or picture just to see what shape the big grommet was not a chance hahaha. Easy to laugh now wow that was horrific. I mean I've had plenty of this happen before but not on a brand now car that just cost me 55k AU dollars. Thanks again for your video and im keen on front camera too eventually brilliant idea. I have adaptive radar cruise so under the VW logo might not be ideal for me but in the grill aimed right could work. Appreciate you sharing and sorry for such a long comment.

I have problem with backup cam highline (leon mk3) from aliex (dataset from Octavia) , that during parking screen is blacked for 1-2seconds randomly during movement... I tried coding 0x0B databus to Terminal 15, Infotainment but doesnt help.. do you know why ?
