@fredericksharon74943 жыл бұрын
Your not keeping your head still, and probably hitting the ball and still on your right foot. Also, try to slow down on your backswing... take your time... it just takes a little practice, don't give up...make sure your on your left foot, 60/40 at least...and don't look at the hole so quick, keep your eye on the ball at impact, you should see the club hit the ball, if you didn't see the club hit the ball, then your are looking up...

Took me hardly any time to get into this. This is a great tutorial on chipping and pitching. I have been doing great with this method compared to being allover the place before.
@markcreighton46463 жыл бұрын
This technique is easy to get down. It has improved my pitching and chipping instantly. He's right, much easier to manage distance and you hit the ball much more crisply.

Am I swinging too hard I get the shanks not coming back through the ball when I go short I'm through it but like flipping it or junk please help
@GolfTipsEdit Жыл бұрын
Please check 1. a ball position as Setup, 2, arm & hand relaxed, 3. shaft must be in front of the ball at impact, 4. left hip pull instead of right hip push (often a reason for shanks).

Hinge and hold.... I like to hinge and flip maybe that’s why I not on tour?
@TrevorDandy.3 жыл бұрын
I've never understood how Phil can say "hinge and HOLD" with a straight face. Why has NOBODY called him out on this?!? Hold my ass, he has the best release of the club into the ball around the greens since Seve. That shaft is damn near vertical when he hits these shots, perfectly exposing the bounce. It should be called "Hinge and release"
@RedDragonfly2053 жыл бұрын
@@TrevorDandy. He is talking feels like. He has same release All shots. It is an elementary clinic style lesson.
@TrevorDandy.3 жыл бұрын
@@RedDragonfly205 I get that. You get that. Lots of people that understand how to chip get it as well. But there are a lot of people that have never heard Phil talk about how to release the club around the greens that are trying to hold their angles into the ball. it. It can just be misleading is all

@ericstra27933 жыл бұрын
Actually if you are a righty his swing is perfect for you. Just mirror what he does with your swing. That’s how Phil learned. By mirroring his dad who was a righty. You can reverse Phil’s process. (BTW Phil is actually right handed)
@jms61843 жыл бұрын
@@ericstra2793 Yeah, I was just trying to be funny. The main purpose was to credit him for short & simple videos. Unlike most other KZbin videos who drag their videos way too far out on a variety of subjects. Just a little humor but thanks for the tip just the same.

It’s so strange to me how I can’t do anything productive inside 50 but at 50 to 110 I can get on the green and 6-8 feet from the pin consistently using really high flop shots
@EDMLforLIFE2 жыл бұрын
Nobody cant hit a "flop shot" from 50 to 110 yards lol. You can hit it high, and have it land soft, but a true flop shot does not go very far. Nowhere close to 50 to 110 yards

Did he say what degree wedge he uses?
@iec758710 ай бұрын
he mostly uses a 60 but it depends on lie
@dbc77720113 жыл бұрын
He opened club face to practically laying it flat on ground. Need perfect lie and skill to hit it like him. Wish they had camera directly behind him to see his swing path in backstroke and downstroke.
@bobbys43273 жыл бұрын
I have found, with this method, and it is probably the same with any stroke: Swing the club on YOUR swing arc. Don't take it straight back. Stay on your arc and the club will come back to an even lie angle a lot easier with no manipulation. At first it will feel like you are taking the club way inside. Stay on your arc!

@nicholasdemetriades91543 жыл бұрын
Yeah this takes skill. Easier to pretend you are tossing a ball underhand with the required amount of momentum. Hinge the wrists obviously more than a chip shot. Let the body face more open to the target. Keep the arms relaxed letting the left elbow bend after impact from the momentum of the shot. You won't get the spin like Phil but definitely gives a shallower attack angle and is more forgiving for an amateur golfer.
