So for comparison, I've got the 2024 Mk8 R, and still running it in with just 2k on the clock; since my last refill I've travelled 455 miles with 30 miles range left on the computer, topping 45mpg on a long motorway run but admittedly setting cruise control to 65mph and then over 41mpg with town and urban driving combined in the cycle. My lowest is 32mpg on shorter trips over the hills. These aren't bad for 300bhp+.

Great vid, i just picked my golf r estate up and driving back from Guildford to Birmingham i got 37.9, same colour just standard wheels, but your pretoria alloys really suit the car

My 2014 Golf R in normal mode, with the auto engine off disabled, without driving in heavy traffic where that would engage other than at traffic lights, gets around 110 km per 10 Litres, so 9.1 L per 100km. It is not the efficiency the sales pitch said it would be of 7.3L per 100km.

I was surprised TBH, specially as the edition 38 return trip to Lath's house was a country road sprint and 3s up. the 4mo or 300zx would have got half i swear.

For sure, if I stuck to a cruise controlled speed limit and just did motorways, it would do over 400 I'm sure. As this included some town, and city driving, plus some spirited driving 3s up with luggage.

@@Mexicanfab for example if you were to do all city driving in traffic, start stop, what kind of miles do you get?

Mr Channy I live in London, so that’s my regular type of driving, and I get about 270 to 300,which still isn’t terrible for a 55L tank. My mk4 V6 would give me about 220, 250 to a tank of start stop city driving.

What driving mode were you in mate ?

Jake Jake I’m always in ”Race” mode, but then pull the leaver into D and out of S, and I find you then have the stop/start of Eco, with lower revs than Race, but has all the other characteristics of race, and if need be, you can hijack it with paddles, or flick leaver out of D and into S instantly.

They are in the UK. In all my time searching for one, not a single wagon/variant/estate was available in manual. Also, DSG is stronger than manuals, know of quite a few people with manual hatchback Rs that needed a clutch.
