It was a maintenance day! I hope having you join me will provide you with tips if you want to do your own maintenance. I also share some things that I think most people do not think about, and the importance of knowing what fluids should be checked when the car is hot vs cold. Also a tidbit about liters vs quarts. Hope this helps someone.

the hash marks dont mean you need to add it until its full...ideally you want it half way (with oil pressure and what not) being factors

Nice car! I also suck the oil from the filter housing on my r and my audi.

Good to see you posting again! Whatever happened to the follow on video with your upgraded turbo? Just a observation I had heard previously that with an all-wheel-drive car, you shouldn’t rotate the tires in an X pattern just front to rear, any opinions on that?

If you follow what’s in the manual, they tell you to do a same side swap. My assumption is that is because some people have directional tires and that is the safe method that works either way. I always swap sides with non-directional tires to even tread wear. My directional are just front back of course. I don’t sweat it too much honestly. The proper “pattern” in most cases depends on who you ask! :-)

Noticed you are using 5w40 oil? I have been using 5w30, also Liquid Moly. I thought we are supposed to be using 5w30?

I can't imagine changing plugs every 6K miles. Why so frequently?

hope your coolant pump isn't leaking, i had my 7.5R's pump replaced at 30k miles under warranty

My water pump was also replaced. If I have a leak it’s a slow one and I haven’t found it. I do loose coolant over time. I’m just used to it now lol

@@EVERYTHINGcpoI did search for days and I finally found a very small leak. It was where the oilfilter holder (this peace includes a oilcooler) is bolted to the engineblock. The seal was leaking.

hmmm... from my humble expirience i take if you do the vacuum method (which is actually not recommended by Volkswagen) and keep the car at straight level with your beautiful Quickjack lift you will have between 0.3 and 0.5 liters of old used oil left in your oilpan. On my Golf 7 1.4 TSI i do the old fashioned ramp method for two reasons. First to get all old oil out and because my oil filter is only accessible from under the car. Greetings from northern Bavaria.

Wait, did you say FCPEuro lifetime replacement covers engine oil? You basically get free oil changes? How does that business model make sense at all?
@EVERYTHINGcpo

Yep! I made a video about it. PayPal dropped their free return shipping program, so now I have to pay for shipping, but still get lifetime replacements on oil, filter, spark plugs, brakes, etc. kzbin.info/www/bejne/sKjaoJKrba-mqMksi=M7lGwRmN0Db9poc3

have you ever changed your oil drain plug? I've been vacuuming my oil every other change, then doing a traditional drain otherwise

The pump method sounds way better than changing the oil plug. I am going to order a vacuum pump from Amazon. Any recommendations? I found one for around $90 Canadian dollars.

@@Fade2BlackCF There are a lot of options. I would go with a highly rated manual pump. This one looks a lot like the one I use and has good ratings. amzn.to/3PNmV1D
