GOLF R MK7.5 (2019) - Audi Coding for improved throttle response - OBDEleven

Throttle response mod via OBDeleven and/or VCDS on a 2019 VW Golf R (MK7.5). Also known as "Audi Coding" for Golf R.
Car was already equipped with APR Stage 1 ECU & TCU Tune. This mod did help with throttle response, but the largest improvement was launch control. Prior to this, launch control slipped a lot. Now, there's better traction during launches! Adaptive Cruise Control works as expected as well.
Note: Perhaps there's also some adaptation time that the ECU needs to fully optimize the throttle response changes.. I've only put about 5 miles on the car since changing the coding.
MK7.5 Golf R (2019) - obdEleven / VCDS - Coding for Improved Throttle Response (Audi Coding):
Step 1. In OBDeleven, open “Steering Assistance” module.
- Select “Adaptation”
- Select “Driver Profile Switchover”
- Change to “Direct Controlled Over Threshold.”
Step 2. In OBDeleven, select “Engine” module.
- Navigate to, and select “Long Coding”
- Select Byte 00 (Loads to this by default)
- Deselect all bits
- Select bit 1
- Hex Code: 02 - after selecting bit 1
Step 3. In OBDeleven, select “Adaptive Cruise Control” module - change “Brand Logic to Audi”
- Navigate to “Adaptive Cruise Control” module
- Select “Long Coding”
- Select “Brand logic” (this is near the bottom of the list)
- Switch “VW” to “Audi”
Step 4. In OBDeleven, select “Brakes” module
- Select “Adaptation”
- Navigate to “Rough Road Optimization”
- Switch to “not activated.”

Thanks for the reference shoutouts. I’ve got some feedback on this that it all works as long as you have adaptive cruise module. If you don’t, you can’t get cruise working with Audi engine hex code. The last one is rough road optimization totally optional, just allows for more wheel spin on launches. Something you may or may not want.

Thanks for sharing. 2nd step - can't get the long coding to work. OBD11 says function not available. My MK7.5 does not have the ACC.

Bro, what is your actual long code for step 3? I have VCDS and I dont know what bits your changing. This is the brand logic step.

I have radar in bumper, I have ACC but in VCDS I dot see Address 05: Acc/Start auth.. whats wrong ? Otherwise I cant set Brand logic to Audi ..

I tried doing this on my 2020 VW atlas CS and byte 00 was set to bit 0 changed that to bit 1 it didn’t accept the value any idea if it supports? I have the ACC!

Can you just change the Adaptive Cruise Control so you can get the warning if you go over the speed limit as show by the sign recognition? I have already activated speed recognition using OBD11 and signs show up in dash in my Golf MK7.5 ... want to be able to set warning for when I exceed speed. With Audi you can set value over limit? Can not find a way for doing this in VW except maybe the setting in long coding which are not activated ... 'Speed_limit_assistent' and 'Traffic_sign_detection' ... IF I change these to activated will that allow this? Thanks Laurie

You put on adaptive cruise control without having the actual feature on the car? It worked only by using the park sensors? I’m confused, sorry.

The car has adaptive cruise control from the factory, and I believe all mk7.5 Golf Rs do too. Before performing these tweaks, I was reading from a few others who did this, and they said their adaptive cruise control didn't work after this. So in the video I was trying to test it as best as I could. Happy to report over at over 6 months later, ACC works as expected.

Same issue I tried on my Golf mk7 1,6 TDI stage 1. Manual transmission 1. Got throttle response to work with no issue. 2. Audi Engine responsiveness and then it made errors on brake and engine. Result normal Cruise control was not working. Changed it back from Audi to VW.

Hi with my mk7 from 2015 did it work. But i only did the first two steps. After the 3rd stepo i got a error message and the ACC was not working. After setting the Long coding back it's working fine...

Yep! I have 7 of them in total, as I was somewhat involved in that... "project." Works for me since OBD Eleven is Android only and I use iOS
