Throttle response mod via OBDeleven and/or VCDS on a 2019 VW Golf R (MK7.5). Also known as "Audi Coding" for Golf R.
Car was already equipped with APR Stage 1 ECU & TCU Tune. This mod did help with throttle response, but the largest improvement was launch control. Prior to this, launch control slipped a lot. Now, there's better traction during launches! Adaptive Cruise Control works as expected as well.
Note: Perhaps there's also some adaptation time that the ECU needs to fully optimize the throttle response changes.. I've only put about 5 miles on the car since changing the coding.
MK7.5 Golf R (2019) - obdEleven / VCDS - Coding for Improved Throttle Response (Audi Coding):
Step 1. In OBDeleven, open “Steering Assistance” module.
- Select “Adaptation”
- Select “Driver Profile Switchover”
- Change to “Direct Controlled Over Threshold.”
Step 2. In OBDeleven, select “Engine” module.
- Navigate to, and select “Long Coding”
- Select Byte 00 (Loads to this by default)
- Deselect all bits
- Select bit 1
- Hex Code: 02 - after selecting bit 1
Step 3. In OBDeleven, select “Adaptive Cruise Control” module - change “Brand Logic to Audi”
- Navigate to “Adaptive Cruise Control” module
- Select “Long Coding”
- Select “Brand logic” (this is near the bottom of the list)
- Switch “VW” to “Audi”
Step 4. In OBDeleven, select “Brakes” module
- Select “Adaptation”
- Navigate to “Rough Road Optimization”
- Switch to “not activated.”
