More of this please, every days a school day and the wrist angle and flattening is a fantastic way to get me back online, would love to hear your take on wrist movements throughout impact and how to control the flipping of the club at impact. Great content as ever! We also require more muppets humorous content to give us a smile over Christmas

One good video by Mark on wrist angles is at kzbin.info/www/bejne/oaDUaJJjds2tidk. There are a number of other videos on these things by Mark. Click on videos heading under the following link for these previous videos kzbin.info.

Crystallizing a ton! Love Cogorno, Whitaker, Wilson.... Aimee, but your instruction has synthesized many of the basics succinctly. And, simplified. Wrist angle is a prime example and here you do it again. Much appreciated! I am a poor golfer but working to improve, which oftentimes lends to some of the more robotic, wrist hinging-type instruction. Your theory combined with practice and emphasis on the nuance of each individual makes for very valuable lessons. Thank you! Each time I watch your videos I’m rushing out to the range or course to play.

Every little bit helps. I started a bit late this year and only got a couple lessons. My swing was changed quite a bit and we left off on the backswing, so learning more about the downswing while the club is closed for the winter is more than welcome.

What I love about these "basic" lessons is you don't say anything I don't already know. But you say it in a way that gives me ideas I haven't had before. Which enthuses me to get out and try them more than just go to the range and belt a few balls. Great stuff 👍

I really like the descriptiveness of the feeling through the movement. It’s ideal as a beginner to help me understand rather then most people’s videos when your just told what should happen.

Great video. Really liked the idea of the finish position (Mr Hogan described it as a 'spent finish') as a way of creating good movement. Almost like putting the cart before the horse. With new golfers I teach the finish first (after set up fundamentals are done), then build a backswing and find it really works well. Keep up the great work. Really enjoy the content.

Excellent. Exactly the kind of stuff I need. I perceive that the biggest problem with my swing is that I'm very armsy with poor use of the lower body and rotation. My goal this offseason is to fix that and videos like this should help I think.

I have been working on my swing and I'm making progress. I'm listening to you, believe me. One of the things that has been killing my swing through the ball is that I found that I was really chicken winging at strike, I suppose because I am trying to speed up the club head. Today, I spent an hour keeping my left arm/elbow unbroken through the point of impact. Much better strikes, actually better club head speed and neutral to slight draw to the left, and I was seeing 10-15 more yards total. This is also helping my iron play, as I have been compensating for the chicken wing with ball position, which has been giving me ridiculous launch angles and way too much ball height. Neutral setup, without chicken winging gives me much better strike and flight without a lot of grunt.

The basics I feel are so important and need to be looked at often. So appreciate that you re-visit them often. Another video showing what happens when aim is to the left and the right and also parallel on a particular hole, how that affects results that gives would be of interest to me. Thanks.

Cheers from the states...here are some topics for future videos that I'm interested in: 1. Assessing your shot and how it preludes the preshot routine (what do you consider before taking an approach shot, wind, temperature, pin position, elevation, ground level, grass height, etc...I could see Dan having a field day with this with all the medals he participates in). 2. Winter Workouts (I'm lucky to have a 12 month season in LA but for those that aren't, what are some golf specific exercises and stretches that players can do...especially with your recent transformation I'm sure people can learn a lot from that). 3. How to instill real change at the range (instilling swing thoughts at the range so that they're no longer thoughts but rather on auto-pilot out on the course). 4. Updated season ending WITB for the gang (looks like Dan's finally found a club set makeup that works for him while Coach has an unusual set considering he plays a 4i and 5h) 5. Course games one can play (I find myself playing solo rounds where I have a slow group in front of me and nobody behind me, what are some games I can play in these situations that can be analyzed for future practice sessions...I was thinking of taking 4 balls and taking shots from 75-100-125-150 on every hole and tallying up a percentage of successful shots but are there any other games pros play on the course to keep focus and fun continuing rather than just waiting on the group ahead of me)

Great video and drills. A great drill for me in the past is to get some space between my knees at the start of the downswing. Really helps me squat, push up, and finish on my lead side. Another is just thinking of chucking a ball toward the target. You wouldn't stay back if you were throwing a ball out there. #stilllookingfitbruh

Thanks Mark, isn’t it club face that defines the motion in down swing? If you start down swing with open club face, you will be forced to move in certain way to manage club face in impact. Similarly very closed club face forces downswing from in to out. So would you say that key to downswing is club face management in backswing?

This series has been fantastic. I'm sure you have already covered something like this, but a vlog on course management for mid to high handicappers would be handy. Like playing from crappy lies (in the trees), to the shot you just hit didn't end up in the location you wanted. Might be short or obstructed. I think most people will aspire to strike the ball to the best of their abilities (unfortunately mine is not as sweet as yours) and will oftenbe in stinking position.

Good tips. I really struggle with rushing the downswing so this may help me with better timing. Having hurt my back (doing non golf things), I had no game when I returned to play - and I still had a useless game a year later. It was only when watching myself in a mirror that I noticed I wasn't leaning far enough forward which meant too much of my swing was in my arms and I had poor rotation. 2 minutes after discovering this I was rotating so much better, maintaining a much more steady head position and more importantly I was hitting it consistently out of the centre of the club again. Back still OK and golf so much more enjoyable.
