Hi Mark, I struggle with my takeaway from time to time, the issue I have is what moves first and sometimes I can stand over the ball for some time trying to start the club moving. I would appreciate your thoughts on this, thank you.

Hi Keith Stanley a tip that works for me in the takeaway is feeling the chest driving everything and the arms being passive and following after. Similarly in the transition from the top I feel the hips turning then the chest driving the arms into impact. Good luck

Cheers for the Video! Forgive me for chiming in, I would appreciate your opinion. Have you heard about - Paneevelyn Swinging Clubsman (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now)? It is an awesome one off guide for revealing an effortless golf swing technique without the normal expense. Ive heard some decent things about it and my buddy finally got great results with it.

My takeaway was coming too much from the inside and causing me to stand the club up on the downswing. I am now more squared during my takeaway and hitting the ball "Straighter"! Lessons are KING!!! Love you work Mark, Keep up the great videos.

These videos are great aid memoirs for my current lessons. So, when I don’t go back to my bad old ways. I’m starting to get the ball out there again. Thanks very much for posting them. Been doing these and similar drills for some time. Unfortunately feel into the habit of watching my hands and rotating my head which led to a sway and worse. Good that you noted to watch the ball and then look after reaching first parallel. I'd add hitting show mini swings too to reinforce forearm rotation too, it's really helped me. Nice series setting your teaching skills and not just the vlogs too.

I have had differen't backswing problems many years. Club inside, too short etc... I have take lessons and try many drills. Like you said, i think the key is to feel and understand your delivery to ball. Then your backswing "loading" gets better without thinking too much 🤔

It's the connection/disconnection of the body and the arms that gives me problems with timing. The takeaway is normally Ok but its from the club parallel upwards that I get my problems.

A pro that worked with me pointed out that my shoulder turn stops in the beginning of my take away, and my arms would go up and I’d have no chance of hitting through the ball, just swiping across it, We worked on making sure I kept turning.

The problem I had with my take away was that I would sway and this would cause me to fat the ball in my swing. I worked on a move where it felt like I was twisting my hips rather than lifting the club away from the ball. This took so many bad shots away from my game and improved my connection, strike, power. It allows me to move my hips towards target I. The down swing.

Great vlog and tuition I have had a lesson last week and discovered what I can work on and improve and was amazed how many parts were not quite right in my game and swing impacting on my ball flight and distance and seeing this has reminded me of what I am practicing in takeaway and swing path.

The video you put out last week with eldest seems to have really helped me out, in particular the first drill (2nd drill in this vid). Hey mate, I've just started with a new coach using Trackman. I always new I was coming over the top with a path of -10. Within a 1hr lesson he had me hitting balls with a +4.6 path. Albeit this was with a really strong grip. I suspect he has pushed my grip around more than required, with the expectation that on my next lesson we will be bringing it back to a more neutral grip. The other thing that happened with the corrected path was a gain of about 20m in carry. Who would have bloody known all this stuff actually works. I have saved this video so that I have to try some of these drills and see if these help as well. Thanks bruh.

Hey Mark, One of your loyal army from Australia. I have spent a lot of time working on my irons over over the last 6 months and feel like I'm happy with how I am striking them (thanks massively to your videos ) however really struggling with driver and set up. I feel like the foward ball position makes me want to tilt and point hips left. In turn I feel like I get my hips sliding and then present open club face with my hands trying to catch up or when I do square the face I get the pull. Wondering if this is common and if so could you so a video with some tips. Cheers Bruh

I do these drills alot at home ..because I can't get to the golf course as much as I would like ....Mark there is a short par 5 on my home course that if you hit the fairway in position to go for the green in two one almost always has a lie where the ball is above your feet (for right handed player) and slightly uphill and as much as I have tried to practice this I almost always pull this shot a couple yards left of the green ....I struggled catching this shot thick/fat as well sorted that out but can't seem to fix the pull ....and it's killing me because I am usually when I hit a decent drive around 140-165 out which should mean I get on in two alot more ....but because of the sidehill lie that causes the ball be above my feet I only hit it about 30 % of the time and I would like to improve that %

Great vid. Quick question though you have constantly said takeaway "planes/paths" make no difference to downswing path/plane (you can hit out to in with a flat swing plane), so why would you advise a neutral takeaway? My backswing is "flat", but gives me consistently better results that a high/neutral backswing.
