Nice review! Can't wait for part 2. Especially interested in airspeed (trims in/out/speedbar) and fuel consumption compared to Hadron XX. My HXX is a fine XC machine and I don't even get much of oscillations (unless air is rowdy) but it surely feels busy and catches every bump.

Thank you Max, and yes, the geeky bit will be next time. I have the feeling (even the manual says its 4 kph slow at the top end) that its not going to be as fast but xc wings are not all about speed, its comfort and distance covered for fuel used. At the moment, its fitting that bill very well, bring on the weather and lets see what happens.

How does this compare to the freeride in your opinion? Which would you rather fly for regular weather cross country?
@GolfFoxtrot224 жыл бұрын
That's a really good question. For XC, it's a really easy answer, the Hadron 3 and for the following reasons: it's ability to make flying in a straight line with no pilot input, it's very fuel efficient. It's not the fastest, but xc flying is not about speed but getting to. Your destination by using the right amount of fuel. The freeride was very thursty, but esy to launch, but is trade the easy launch for an effortless long flight. I hope that helps.

@therealeugenecussons4 жыл бұрын
Uhmmm...all very interesting. I think it might have the new ADT tech in hence why you might have found the launch difficult trims closed. May I suggest something for pure academic purposes. Close the trims all the way (in contrast to the manual) Then use a hard “bump” the get it up. Hold the risers forward till gets to 12 even with throttle up. We NEED to know if it can counter the wind direction and not oscillate or yaw into dominant wind direction. Both the Solo and Warp can do it SOooo EASY. The trim setting on 3 is for the easy takeoff but then you need to be into the headwind as the manual says. This is a new breed and I cant see why they would pass up on the ADT (Any Direction Takeoff) tech. You beat me on the review for this glider but its because I’m really focused on the Warp as the ultimate glider. I’m depending on your further tests bud! Great video. Great info on stability. Also please check the climb rate at ft/min. The Warp is pinned at 750 even past 10 000ft. Love to know the new Haddy’s (even though not all variables are equal...engine, hp, prop etc)
@GolfFoxtrot224 жыл бұрын
Thanks Eugene, means a lot coming from you. The wind was so variable. I just need more time on the wing. I only had the trims closed on the first ever inflation and that wasn't on camera. I'll try the ADT when I can, I don't want to break my new baby ;)...It did counter the wind quite easily, lauching off wind seemed to happen all the time as it was backing and verring all the time. I'm happy to learn new things. We just need the weather. I'm glad you liked the video. I think this is more like the old WRC, it doesn't climb quickly, just gets going. I'll have my Vario/GPS system next time.
