Great video explaining it! I really love the music selections too.

Nice review! Pretty much echos my feelings on the wing. Launches easy, flys hands off, it’s pretty fast, and can get rowdy if that’s your thing. Not sure I need anything more than this wing!

Universal 1.1 has an indy tip steering toggle. I have a 2017 and my buddy has a 2022 U1.1, both are like this.

Cool thanks for that info!

Universal has a ridiculously and beautifully long trim range but you need to keep in mind that you must not use main brakes when fully trimmed out because of this, once again it would be ineffective to use main brakes while trimmed out so the tip steering is what should be used anyways
@RwP223 Жыл бұрын
@@alejoal07 I constantly train motor outs in my mind, trimming-in is #1 unless water landing (buckles #1), and if i fly low, trims-in also.

The universal does have an independent tip steer line and standard brake lines. The unique thing about the nucleon is that it has independent tip steer while also having 2D steering. I think this setup is an option on the hadron and warp 2.

About using the main brakes, you can use them over the whole trim range as long as you are not pushing speedbar. BUT they are not effective at turning the wing past trim 6 so it's pretty pointless to use them trimmed out further than that, so basically use main brakes up to trim 6 and no speedbar, use tipster otherwise. That way you keep a big safety margin and your commands stay effective. Blue skies!

That's the kind of answer I was looking to get from Dudek but never did. So I guess it's all up to each person's preference. Where did you get this info from? Personal experience?
@alejoal07 Жыл бұрын
@@JustOutHereTinkering they only tell you to exclusively use tst when fully accelerated (trimmers + speedbar). They also tell you that main brake operations while trims fully released is ineffective and may cause collapses if pulled abruptly so they recommend using TST when fully trimmed out. The fact that the main brake is ineffective past trim 6 is personal experience so if it doesn't really work past trim 6, why risk it? Keep larger safety margins and use the more effective tip controls

Dudek Nucleon4 ❤️

Yeah dudek sucks at describing where to stop using brakes, and if you ask in the ppg groups people usually answer "read the manual"😂 I owned this wing, its super fun to fly but a bit spicier than advertised(imo) when it stops flying. I watched various clips from SIVs on it and sold it right away after that, im not ready for that drop in passive safety. Assymetrics caused 2 full face first spirals and frontals made it do a 180 and a face first hard dive, not confidence inspiring to watch. And this was trimmed in on low loading with a pg harness, around 90kg on a 22m. Wouldnt wanna find out how it behaves loaded at 130kg. Also it collapsed very easy from just pulling the As, didnt have to pull brakes at the same time to disturb the reflex.

How would you compare this to the Luna 2 ?
@JustOutHereTinkering Жыл бұрын
Very similar wings. I think the Luna is slightly easier to launch, more eager to inflate and come overhead, but the Nucleon has slightly lighter brake pressures, is more efficient, and has dedicated TST's which I really like. Nucleon also has a higher top speed on speedbar.

Can you 2D these dudeks safely?

Yes absolutely. The Nucleon 4 comes factory tied in but with separate additional tip toggles for fully trimmed out flying. The nucleon xx is the same way.

@@JustOutHereTinkering I must have this wing. I'm at 120kg with my Thor 202, I'm torn between the 22m and 24m. I'm coming from a 28 Universal 1.1

@iKenFlyPPG you're max load on a 22m. That's probably the way I would go. But if you want a liftier wing that's slightly more docile go 24m

@@JustOutHereTinkering I have the same weight 120kg and the same Dudek Universal 28 wing and it's not ok in turbulence, it seems unloaded. Size 22 is up to 135 kg, why do you say maximum load 120kg?
