Which of the new Titleist TSR Drivers in this video would you choose? Let us know ⬇
@allencarter16922 жыл бұрын
Usually when someone comes back talking about how much ballspeed and distance they've gotten from a new fitting, it is usually because they were just not fitted or not fitted correctly for their prior driver. But I am here to tell you I was at a Titleist fitting yesterday with one of my buddies, who is a Titleist club pro. He was perfectly fitted into his TSi3 a couple of years ago. When he went through the fitting with the TSr, he literally gained 10.2 mph of ballspeed (which is almost unheard of; similar to Frank's) with the TSr4 and moving the weights to gain higher launch (and resulted in lower spin). I saw it with my own eyes and since it was an outdoor fitting and I play in a group with him from time to time, I could clearly see how much longer he was. I am rarely impressed with new equipment because most of it is to the point you can only fine tune it, but Titleist hit it out of the stratosphere with the TSr range (as long you are properly fitted).

I would see going into the TSR3 or TSR4. But swing all of them and get the right shaft for the club and dial it in

TSR4 is a 🚀. I was fitted by the famous Andy Inman a couple weeks ago. Great guy and fitter as you guys know! My ball speed avg was 179 and smash avg 1.49. Got the driver a week after fitting! Love it.

its going to be a long winter thinking about next season's Titleist fitting day at my club. I think its time to update my old 917. Would love to see some gains like you guys got. At this point, I'm fairly sure I'd be in a 2, but interested in what the 1 will do as well.

This Titleist fitter sounds like he's selling cars. I play a TItleist bag. My fitting center got the Titleist heads in and my buddy and I brought our personal driver shafts in and hit the TSr2 & 3. After 2 hours and trackman, the new heads were IDENTICAL in performance for myself and my buddy, to our TSi3's. Seems to be the consensus, the GM of the center said that in his fitting, the TSR's were identical to last years models. In fact this was AGAIN confirmed by Peter Finch...IDENTICAL. Identical speed across the face on all hits. And frankly this was totally expected. Terminal performance has been reached. Great drivers, just like the last model.

In the TSi video, Frank was getting 149.9 ball speed. Now he’s getting 151. I feel these fittings are always the same - you come in cold, hit some crappy shots then warm up and hit better ones.

Always enjoy your fittings but would really like to see strike pattern on face and how fitter adjusts driver…. Especially on tsr3 CG weight. On different video’s Titleist fitters talk about aligning CG weight to your strike location, others to your common miss strike point-to keep ball speed up, and the old reason was to promote fade or draw…. as time has gone by more detail of what the filters is adjusting to would be insightful…. Also consider referencing numbers from previous fitting to show what’s from new club and what is from your current swing. Either way always enjoy your club fitting video’s. Thanks.

Big fan of your fitting videos! Always some of the best. Curious however how much of the gains are driven by the fact that your baseline shots are always when you are warming up and by the time you get to the new clubs you not only are mentally more excited but also physically warmed up better. Do you ever re-baseline with the original driver mid way to make sure your original read was accurate? I always worry about the bias of this during a fitting.
@Golficity2 жыл бұрын
Solid question. The fitters always have us warm up before taking our baseline numbers. For the sake of time in the video we don’t show that whole process. But it’s a good point that good fitters will always have you warm up before a fitting. If they don’t there’s something wrong with the process.

So Mike gained 40 going into the TSi, now 20 in the Tsr, that’s 60, are you over 300 on your average now. What shaft did Frank get fit into?
@shaneWARs12 жыл бұрын
Looks like a tension shaft
@Golficity2 жыл бұрын
I stayed with the Tensai Blue shaft. Same as my previous driver. We confirmed in the fitting that it’s still the best fit for me. Only change is that I went a 1/2” longer on the shaft overall. Mike gained 20 yards on the ground with roll out but his overall gain in carry distance was closer to 5 yards overall. - Frank

I’m a huge fan of fittings but do you ever think you could get overfitted? Especially for golfers that are trying to improve. if you’re taking lessons and changing your swing wouldn’t that negate some things in the fitting? I think for pro golfers they can get super detailed but for people like us I think super detailed fittings could be a waste of money if you’re tinkering your swing at the same time.
