I'm impressed to see so many videos on how to improve your golf swing that don't "cure your slice in 10 swings". Just small details, one at a time, to create a more functional and fluid swing. Excellent work!

This is the clearest explanation of how to address over swinging. I’ve struggled with fixing this for years - left arm straight, more wrist cock, less turn, more turn, etc. - without any success. After thinking about the inside of the elbow facing the seam of your shirt, I took a few backswings facing a mirror and IMMEDIATELY see a difference. Thanks for the tip, Larry!

Larry is certainly talented teacher with a good eye. Most teachers work with what the student brings and don't make those important changes leaving students with the ability to hit the ball but with ingrained mistakes. Even though I have worked with some of the best, I've always wanted to work on the finer points but never found a teachers to help fix them. I've still won my fair share of tournaments but always desired to reach for the higher ring in the pursuit of excellence in my golf swing. Nice to see these points being addressed so maybe we all can learn from videos like this. Perhaps it's the new age of golf teachers? Thanks Matt! .

This is a great follow up to Matt’s backswing videos with Tyler and Ian Mellor. It’s refreshing to see you (basically a scratch or better golfer) humbly absorb and apply the coaching in a way that’s relatable to the masses. Not that we all don’t like watching Matt hit bombs, but my favorite videos when you were with TXG were the coaching/ teaching clips with guys like Larry, Tyler, and Gareth!

There is absolutely no doubt your were the T in TXG. Tour level ball striking everyone can appreciate and admire. In fact, I actually feel like I am watching a TXG video watching this. Would be really cool if you and Larry could team up more and find a way to combine your content. You two work very good together.
@kevan48523 жыл бұрын
This ties in really well with your session with Ian Mellor. In that video, there’s a bit about the trail elbow not getting deeper than the trail shoulder. To use Larry’s words in this video, that creates “fake depth”. Great content!

This is a really great example of how an overswing really changes the way you turn and swing a golf club. I struggle with a turn similar to what you do Matt and I discovered the "fix" on my own a bit while playing recently. @jaytucker43383 жыл бұрын
Great video. This all really hit home for me when Larry said he saw people creating 'fake turn'. If I am getting the message correctly, it appears that this lesson is all focused on eliminating any looseness in the backswing that is artificial and will immediately be dumped when the downswing begins. If you're going to dump it anyways, why do it in the first place!? What a gem. Really insightful. Thanks for sharing this Matt.
@Boss302ATC3 жыл бұрын
This is a great subject to cover. I never understood until I watched another video from Athletic Motion Golf, about how far the arms move. Everyone thinks the arm moves so much but it's really the chest rotation with your hip pivot that you should be doing. The added benefit is that when you start the downswing you end up creating Lag between the arms and chest for MORE power! Great fix for an inside takeaway too! Great job men

I was literally just at the range and couldn't figure out why my swing felt so disjointed (besides coming off of winter). This video made everything crystal clear. This was the most helpful swing advice video I've ever seen. As soon as I saw it, I knew I was hugely guilty of it. I've never even heard of this concept until now, and it's made a huge difference. I've played 45 on course holes since this video (and I have a SkyTrak) and in one week I've gone from a low 80s shooter to a mid 70s. Way more consistent on the SkyTrak too, so it seems like it was real improvement, and not just a few good rounds in a row. Thank you Matt and Larry!

This was one of the most difficult changes I've ever had to make in my swing. It took me 7 months to finally make my backswing consistent, shorter, while having more width. There's alot that went into it, big ones being forcing my right arm to feel straighter, feel like I'm pushing my hands out at the center of my chest, less radial of the lead wrist, a more vertical backswing path among other things.

Great video - one of my main challenges is I far over-rotate as you can see my shoulder blades when facing me because apparently I'm hyper-mobile vs a typical golfer, which puts my whole swing out of sync because my hands have to travel so far to get the club face square again.
