I just got the T200s, beautiful, forgiving, and overall just super fun to play with.

yeah I got fit into T100 by my swing coach and I said no lol went t200 4i-PW and then added a t100 PW bent to 48*. I love them. It feels like I'm cheating, they go so far and are so forgiving.

I was fitted at the pro shop and the P790 (2024) came out the winner played Titliest 200 & 350 and all the other brands nothing was as consistent as Taylormade.

Swapped from the MP-58 Mizuno forged irons to the P790 yesterday. Yes, the irons are playing one lower, but my score was also lower than the recent months. That's really all that matters.

I had a set the p790 they was good for what i needed. But i quickly fell out of love with them. Went too the t100s and really enjoyeed the shorter irons. Tried the t150 and t200 for abit more forgiveness. Was nice but not much different to the t100s. The t200 was nice. For me the t200 is definitely nicer than the p790. But i ended up with a set i230 perfect combination of looks performance feel and forgiveness is brilliant concluding its a lower hcp range club with more traditional style lofts
@seegarsmkr10 ай бұрын
Alex, your spin rate with the 7 iron was 5900, but the loft is the same as a more traditional 6 iron and 5900 for a 6 iron is optimal. The loft is more important than the number on the bottom.

Correct!

yeah.. i just bought a set and i went 5- gap instead the strong lofts are such an annoying way to make it seem like the iron goes further
@atamagashock6 ай бұрын
@@40Mprxdigyyeah that’s what they all do now. They want these crazy distance claims, but in reality every club is playing atleast down 1. The new qi irons have a 28 degree 7 iron. 20 years ago that was in between a 5 and 6 iron. I’d love to compare a traditional 7 iron like 34 degrees to one of these new 7 irons and see the difference in launch and landing angle as well as height. If the numbers are roughly the same then sure call it a 7, but if all the numbers line up with a traditional 6 iron, than it’s a bunch of marketing bs
@chrisgilligan49685 ай бұрын
@@40Mprxdigy Yes and no. There's more to it than that...with the low CG your should be getting higher launch, higher peak height and better landing angle. That was the biggest thing for me. But on top of that, you're hitting a club that is shorter in length for every distance...which should give you a small measure of better control.
@chrisgilligan49685 ай бұрын
@@atamagashock The new stronger lofted irons - by in large stick to the same club length as traditional sets. So yes 8 is the old 7 - but you're getting the distance out of a club that is shorter which should give you at least a little bit more control. With the tungsten weighting providing both forgiveness and moving the CG down - you get more consistent distance, as well as higher launch and peak height numbers. I went into the T200's out of a traditionally lofted set of Mizuno JPX 921 Tours. It's early days, but so far my numbers are so much better with the T200's.

Just got fitted and p790s beat t200 by a mile for me. Dispersion was so tight. Ordered my set today!
@chrisgilligan49685 ай бұрын
It's such a personal thing...enjoy those 790's they're great clubs. I found that the T200's performed much better for me than the P790 when i did my fitting session. And I went with the T200's.

very well put. they're both great irons, it really is a personal thing.

Just ordered the P790’s today. Dispersion was so much tighter and equally appealing to look down at. Great feedback from the club face on centre strikes too.

Get a fitting with both - try the Mizuno Pro 245 as well....there's some others in the mix too - Srixon ZX5....certainly others as well. A fitting will try a few shaft options with each to try and get you into the best launch conditions.

Sorry good video, but blades are always best aim small miss small, plus a better feel when you stripe it. My opinion for the pga rna smaller heads across the board
@chrisgilligan49685 ай бұрын
The goal of golf is to shoot the lowest score - not how a club feels when you hit it right on the screws. 99% of golfers don't find the sweet spot on a blade often enough in a round to make that feeling of flushing a blade override the fact that they're shooting in the 90's or 100's. I was playing a set of Mizuno JPX 921 Tour irons - they aren't blades, but they are a forged player's iron. The difference in feeling when I middle one of those to one of my T200's is very small.... there's a difference, but it isn't worth giving up better launch conditions and more consistent distance control on off center hits since I'm not one of these guys that has a wear pattern the size of a quarter in the middle of the clubface.

I could never buy the P790s. There is a screw in the club head! No way to use them for me. That would constantly annoy me. So, for the moment I will go on playing my 9 year old RSi 1 irons which are my first irons played from beginner to HCP10. Still very good clubs after all the years (even without screws).
@GolfmagicPlus4 ай бұрын
quite a lot of clubs now have a screw or something of sorts in the clubhead
