Kyle Porter makes a brilliant observation about the level of caring about this event, and the willingness to bare your soul for the team.

Great recap, gents! Maybe "player retention" would be a good stat to track across RCs and compare EU/USA and results over time. This is the % of players who have multiple appearances and whether that has an impact on RC outcomes. Similar to a customer retention metric. ✌️💗⛳-Eric

The rough was brutal. A blend of wide bladed tall fescues. You could see the mowers couldn't get a good cut as the blades had a ragged cut. You'll never see those grasses used in the US anywhere but someone's lawn.

The funny thing was Cantlay and LaCava didn't know what was going on until late in the day. By the way Patrick, big improvement on the forehead.

Max commented on them being unable to sleep right for a couple of days because the time change then the nutty engagement schedule during the week which does not allow them to get into their routine. On the AWAY Matches, the US Team needs to be in country the week prior or at least a few more days earlier. Not sleeping before a match is really bad news. You are not sharp.

Whats so crazy about the cultures on the teams is that the United States is one country, Europe is a bunch of countries. Some US states are bigger than some countries though but still. Every European country has totally different cultures and yet their team culture is significantly stronger.

Yes strong team culture but we also don't come from countries where you spend your life being told you live in the greatest place in the universe ever. That's based on being British but having lived in the US for 20 years of my life.

@@Dickie2702 We're told we live in the greatest country in the world because we VERY clearly don't. We shouldn't have to be reminded how free we are if we are actually free. The rest of the world doesn't seem much better right now though. Off grid homestead somewhere is the goal.

I tend to think it's not as complex as many people make it as to why the Americans didn't win the Ryder Cup..They show up to Italy, (I think they only had two days) theyre jet lagged and tired and many of them apparently where sick and from what I gather they downplayed the degree in which they were sick, but I digress. Even with that aside. They show up to Italy and don't have much time to prepare and many of the players on the American side of the coin hadn't competed since the Fed Ex Cup whereas the Europenas had stayed active on European soil playing in competitions, hence less jet lag and hence less drastic shifts in their sleep cycles and no potential rust. Some or many people/players think that rust is a thing when it comes to their game, but I digress.. And then at the end of the day you have the top pros on both sides of the coin competing against one another.... someone has to prevail. And given the variables I mentioned above, it's not a shocker that the Europeans won.... in addition to their talent, it seemed as though they had some advantges over the American team as mentioned above. The only thing that annoys me, is when people insinuate that it's some ridiculous intangibles. Like The Europeans are better friends and or are better teamates, or the Americans didn't want it enough or they wanted it too much... give me a break! In reference to Homa walking up to the first tee without Harmen... if I had to guess, Harman probably had to take a last second sh*t or something. I know he wasn't feeling well in particular the first day if that's when it occured. But listening to a long interview with Homa he came across extremely genuine when he talked about how close they were as a team, etc, etc. Listening to the genuises at No Laying Up Pocast, they have this cry baby attitude as though the Americans wronged them or committed some other intangible attrocity as to why they lost. But I can almost assure you that both teams did everything in their power to play the best they could... not that this show was saying or insinuating it, but the other show almost had this attitude as though the Americans are bad people because they lost the Ryder cup or tried to hard or some other nonsense, but I digress.

Just for the record I'm pretty neutral when it comes to the Ryder cup even though I was born on an American plot of land. . I tend to root for the players I like, which was a split between both teams. In this Ryder Cup I found mysefl rooting for the Americans only because they were considerably behind after the first day and I wanted to see a good Ryder Cup and to be fair I thoroughly enjoyed the Ryder Cup. I loved the way that the coverage was so easily excessable online and I could watch all the matches shot for shot. It was my favorite tournament that I've watched in a long time, but it was partially because viewing it was so easily accessable.

Spieth when interviewed after answered the Sharpness Question right when asked. He said they need 1-2 weeks off Max . Zach didn't seem to know this? How? No One takes 5 weeks off before a Major.

The Players need to be Paid to. This Slave Labor BS has to Stop.I don't care if they have money or not. You are paid for this. It's wrong for the Corporations yo make $100 Million and not pay the players/coaches. The Coach should also be signed up for 1 Home & 1 Away.

You should have brought up the fact that Zach's captain's picks were horrible and that the JT pick (despite his awful play all year) did not work out whatsoever.....you send a bad message before the Ryder Cup even started by selecting a guy who misses the cut in 3 majors, shot 81 and 82 in 2 of them and STILL GETS PICKED just because he is besties with the Captain......Europe used analytics for their picks and set the course up for long approaches between 180-220 yards because the Molinari brothers stats showed that Europe had a clear performance edge in that range, and tried to limit the amount of wedge approaches because USA had a clear edge in that range....course setup had a *massive role*

Rahm, Rory, Hovland, Straka, Rose, Fitz, Fleetwood, Lowery and on and on all play in the US. So all that bs Mark stated about the Europeans playing together and travelling together on the DPWT has not been true for well over a decade. How Mark is a golf analyst is beyond me.

You guys keep falsely claiming the US had the better team on paper. Based on What Lie? When are you going to admit your metrics for the paper argument is very weak. Rory and Rahm are BETTER coming into that tournament than ANY 2 US Players. Spieth has a terrible Ryder Cup record. Most of us knew he was not turning that around. Same goes for Ricky. So if your top 2 US Players "On Paper" are going to produce a LOSING RECORD against their Counterpart, and the other 2 US players mentioned were likely in the same losing boat, it's almost over right there. Zach's match 1 pairing was bizarre and was a 0. Zach's intervention with Spieth causing a Club change resulting in a Water Ball are 2 examples of what not to do. That is the Point we saw. The Euro Team was Easily BETTER coming in.

Guys, no owning what picks you made. Unreal. So much debate on that and u didn’t review it. Thomas&spieth were rubbish. Johnson made brutal decisions. Playing rookies together in first session. Playing burns in 1st session. Playing spieth/Thomas in day2 foursomes. Many terrible decisions. No talk about the captain. Very disappointing review.

American's do care about winning, and if everything about culture and working together was true, they'd never win an RC or Presidents cup. The reality is they win an awful lot, shit happens and sometimes you lose. It's really not that hard.
