Thank you, Matty Boom Boom...I committed to your style of play my last 3 rounds. First and second round, scored in the low 80s with a shot to break 80. Today, fully committed, shot a +1 73. Aimed for Texas, stayed humble, played from the green backwards with full confidentiality. Let's go, playa's, this man knows what's up.

Hi Matt. Yesterday I was playing a course off the tees that gave my 11 index, a 13 handicap. I had been thinking of your tips during my round and was doing ok, and feeling good. Then on the par 5 8th hole, I hit a great 3 wood in play and had 270 odd to the green with a crossing hazard waterway in front of me. I was so pleased of that shot that I lost all composure and tried to deck a 5 wood to get me within 100 yards. Well I topped the 5 wood twice and eventually hit my hibred 5 and got it around 50 yds to the pin but with a bunker in the way. Looking back I should have used the hibred shot for my 2nd shot knowing I had to get over the hazzard and I was confident in that club and would have had a decent chance to get on the green for 3 and keep my score decent. By the time I finised the hole I had a big fat 10 on the score card. I felt dumb for not thinking it out. I really wanted to let you know your tips are quite helpful and I can see improvement in my thinking because of this. Keep up the good work. I am sure you are helping lots of people who just want to play better golf.

'Staying present' is actually a misnomer. It is impossible not to be present. Are we not always here in the present? Can we be anywhen else other than in the present? No. However, the thought stream, the neurochemical firings in the brain can overlay a sense of replaying a happening that carries an emotional charge. But that neurochemical happening is happening in the present. What we should be teaching is that we should have a process to "Remember I can only be here in the present. Actually there is only the present and what's happening is neurochemical firings in the brain simulating a memory, and overlaying that emotional response on to the present moment.

@@richardvereker8924 Bro, no. That is the type of shit no one understands and immediately turns people away from this type of stuff. It means "not being distracted" muscle memory is also a friggin misnomer. But we know what it means. I am sur eyou can give me a full explanation on how muscles dont have memories. Cmon man, learn communication and persuasion. What you typed out is the exact opposite of persuasion

Matt - I saw an interesting idea on Twitter the other day. Next time one plays golf by themselves, on every hole drop a ball at the 100 yard mark and see how low you can go => essentially 18 100 yard par threes. I tried it today and as the day went on I was doing better and better on the 100 yard shot/putts. Great and simple drill to work on a "free throw" distance.
@GolfSidekick4 ай бұрын
Yes sir. Also playing a second ball when you hit a bad shot. Then play both balls to compare if you really would have done better with the second ball. Usually the scores are the same even with a ‘mulligan’. It proves that you can accept the bad shot and will play fine thereafter

6:10 for me it helps to mentally think of my scores more broadly than the current or last few holes. When I'm not scoring , know that on average I will revert to my mean over time (if I don't then it's time for more practice and/or a lesson)

Manufactuters should make club sets with codes. Almost noone would be able to tell the difference between a PW or an 8i and it'd remove stress of feeling like you must show what a man you are to your partners. This would improve 85% of players' games
@ToddPlaysGolf4 ай бұрын
Quick and simple way to start not giving a fuck about what your playing partners think; leave your driver out of the bag and tell them to deal with it, while you play better golf.

2:05 politics aside, I think this might be why Trump is legit good at golf. He genuinely believes in himself, swings his swing, putts his weird stabby putts and just kills it on the course. Quite eye opening to see him as the perfect example of this in the Bryson-Trump video.

So how do you avoid the anxiety and embarrassment when you play poorly? I completely fell apart playing with my best friend who's a scratch pro golfer.
@GolfSidekick4 ай бұрын
Keep playing with them and slowly realize they do not give the most remote scheisse how you play because they are focused on their game entirely. They only care that you keep pace and PLAY YOUR GAME. they know they are better than you and dont enjoy people trying to keep up with them getting frustrated. It kills the vibe. All scratch golfers enjoy watching people play to their strengths and playing a gameplan suited to their skill

Dont every say to me, "oo my pitcher is my 140 club" again, my friend. Lol i started this year. I shot 96 off reds, full bag 96 off whites, full bag 96 off tips full bag. 96 off blues 3hybrid pitch putter. My lowest thus far is 92. I was playing with a duder i got paired with today he said ooo no boop it a little more if u can. I proclaimed, bogus! Used 3h pitch put for 3 holes. Booped a 3h 210 tee. Then booped it off a wrost snap 150. Toe down 20 in. 2 putt Rinse repeat 3 holes. Par +1 +1 Hey my friend, that was the silliest easiest thing i know youve seen in a while. One +1 was a 3 putt. Other i smoked a tree and said oops. Then booped it on. Hes tryong 40yd flops. It can be simplier. It is a game. I love learning. Walk before run.

My newest of buddies to the games even asked im 210 out what do i hit? 5hybrid. Im 130 out. What do i hit. 5hybrid. He told me thats goofy he hit the same one from near twice the distance. I told him, good news. He only went 20 yards further than his current when he thought he was going to hammer it 110 more. Boop it sttaight my friend. There is a good reason why a 65 year old will run you over. Because he shoots 200 drives straight. Ans from 170 out he hits a 5 hybrid, 3hybrid, or a 3 wood because it goes straught and isnt trying to chucklefuck 15 more yards from a theoretical 7iron he did back in ww2 when the ground was frozen and it rolled, but he feels good today. Naw, they do what they do my friend. Big swing big miss. Use em all Oo...fucking..eeeeee
