thx for the video mate! question: does rate of closure change with longer clubs or is it the same thru the bag? i noticed that I draw all my clubs up to 5 iron, but 4 hybrid thru driver I fade everything. why is that what do you think? thank you!

Thanks Tyler, I've started using GC2 with HMT and it give rate of closure numbers... what would be a "Good" number to look for? I swing my driver in the region of 105 MPH. Tim

I have a dilemma where my left forearm doesn't supinate past neutral postition. This makes it very hard to release the club in a traditional way. How would you build a swing around that? I have come to various conclusions through trial and error most of which destroy my distance. I am not sure exactly what I have come up with recently since I cannot watch my own swing but it feels like I'm trying to hit the ball with the club face facing the ground at impact(if it had 0 degrees of loft) without flexing my wrist.

Absolutely fascinating video and dovetails perfectly with your book Tyler. This really cleared up the 'why' behind the pattern you teach. Cheers!

So we are pretty much talking about 2 different type of release.

Sorry kid, I fundamentally disagree.. For the right way to swing with high ROC, watch Phil Mickelson, Jason Day, and Bubba Watson the masters of high ROC! The lead forearm slows down while the trail wrist takes over in front of the body. There is no hold off unless you want your players to hit controlled blocked shots, check swings, and massive pushes and slices. Minimal ROC is a great concept but totally different swing than you are describing - see Lee Westwood, Matt Kuchar, Sergio Garcia and Henrik Stenson. That’s how you lower ROC the right way! Zach Johnson is probably someone you admire - his key to slowing down ROC is to keep his left arm pinned to his chest. He has great accuracy but poor distance. Good luck with your journey teaching golf and sharing concepts.

Low rate of closure = increased accuracy and loss of distance. High rate of closure = decreases accuracy and increase of distance. Slow rate of closure is better...just club up.
