You’re keeping it real. Letting everyone know it’s not all sitting in the cab watching machines run. Some days are just dirty, dusty, figure out the problem so you can keep rolling. Keep up the good videos! I don’t get to do as much hay work as I’d like to anymore, so this is the next best thing.

Not a knock on Vermeer but, I have noticed a common thread of Vermeer bakers plugging up if you hit the rows too hard. Up here in Missouri there are some Vermeer balers but, we mostly have New Holland and Deere with a smattering of Case IH balers as well.

Another great video and content.. Nice showing that it isn’t always just simple rolling & chilling in the tractor cab AC. That some days either the field or equipment gremlins or both will eat your production time. I myself do hay work in and around St Hedwig for neighbors and friends but definitely not to your levels. Who knows one day we may pass one another along those back roads. Good luck and good haying rest of 2020!!!

Keep up the great work brother! I'm a hay producer from deep south Texas. I feel your pain. As my Uncle always says,"if you're not breaking shit, you're not farming!".

I think only 2.5 wraps of net is recommended on grass hay. You could make a roll last a little longer that way...
@GolschHayFarms4 жыл бұрын
3 works for us. Taking the extra half a wrap and stretching the bale count per roll doesn't benefit us enough to make the change. Our customers love the 3 wraps. Makes good looking bales

That's some serious hay that baler was handling. looks nice and solid!! We used a New Holland to make our round bales. It sure would be nice to use a ZR5 Vermeer on that hay!!!!

Lol. Maybe vermeer will let us test a ZR5 out one day

I’m a die heart green fan but the best balers on the market is the new holland roll belt balers they eat hay like crazy. We can bale 2x bigger windows than that at 6 mph

I’ve heard serious complaints on the RB series. Never heard many complaints on green

Nalley Hay Farms we live them. Had a BR7070 and that thing was nice but it plugged so we got a roll belt 460 and we have not had a plug in it and we have ran 2,000 bales through it and we’ve baled stuff taller then the hood of the tractor and it just sucks it right up
@joshbreitkreutz16044 жыл бұрын
@@justinbranen3485 YEs you cant stop the new Roll Belt series balers. the 460 and 560 are beasts....Golsch Farms might want to check them out..

@danrose32334 жыл бұрын
I started running a 604R this year. They really eat the hay. I haven't plugged it yet...except operator error...forgetting to close the gate. Without the drum roller it is harder to unplug.

So I saw a thing on a continuous Vermeer round baler the other day.. thing is sweet as hell. You should see if Vermeer would let u demo one .. I mean u representing their company with their baler. Just an idea. Lol.

I've seen it too! I don't think they are in production with them yet. Just a few prototypes floating around. Cool concept though! And talk about a time saver!

Thinking that rank hay might start better with a little dew on it in the mornings But you gotta gets it when you can also read maybe bale the opposite way it’s cut🤷♂️never fun having to get out of a cab to get hot and dusty😳

Do you ever have troubles with the rake plugging up having the wheels behind the frame than in front of the frame? I’m in the process of making a baler connection for my case IH wrx301 (14 wheel sitrex rebranded), will be great for grass and cornstalks, I just can’t find good help.
@GolschHayFarms4 жыл бұрын
No this rake handles heavy crop pretty well. If it's extra thick, we just suck in the rake another few feet and that always combats the plugging issue. Finding help is hard! That's why we ended up with our equipment line up.
@treyhutchison45264 жыл бұрын
Out of curiosity, how many total acres do you think y’all bale every season? I’m in the process of converting some old row crop land into Coastal Bermuda fields. For next season.

Hey bud love the videos. Question for you, how would someone get into this business? Even if not bailing, maybe just hauling it? Thanks
@GolschHayFarms4 жыл бұрын
just dive in! Hauling should be fairly easy. A truck and trailer and start advertising! Find comparable rates in your area and price accordingly. There's always a need for hay help in our area. I'm sure it's the same in others as well!
