video essayists that make music are the best breed

You forgot to tag @cjthex in your comment Edited because apparently I don’t know how to tag people on KZbin Edited again because apparently I still don’t know how. Whatever, my point is that Cj the X is that same breed lol

Wow. I'm going to have a difficult time picking one song for my best of the year playlist. There are lines in all of these that hit in a "now twist counterclockwise" kinda way. The mood with the visuals gets me too. Amazing. ❤😭
@ИевлеваКатя9 ай бұрын
It's incredible how raw and powerful this album is, the vulnerability is so striking it literally can't not get an emotional empathetic response. It is so awesome to look at someone's deepest image of their inner world and relate to that, it just reminds me that no one is alone actually. With the visuals i love it how progressively more close-up and dynamic and i'd say invasive it gets with each clip, like the camera is getting closer, we see more movement but at the same time the heroine doesn't get any less reluctant to engage with the viewer so by the Gomorrah track the viewer really feels like an intruder with the camera going this way and that, peeking into the most private corners of your mind. Thank you for shedding light on them for us (i know it wasn't for an audience necessarily but thanks anyway). I lovelovelove it when artists overexplain their creations, so, if you don't mind me asking, what were your thoughts on the structure of the album, what is the reason behind this specific order? It might become more obvious when i'll have listened to it a couple more times, but right now it's my fresh impression coming out of the album having listened to it while reading the lyrics on a separate screen (my auditory processing skills are whack) so i probably don't have the most profound understanding of it all yet

I think it's really cool for you to be so vulnerable like this. There's definitely some rough edges, but I like edge in my music and your passion shines clearer than anything else. These songs are good! They have a lot of weight behind them, I think you have a really good sense of song structure to make those moments pop. Kinda reminds me of the album that Alanis Morissette put out in 2020. Keep going!

oh my, thank you for this… my brain is now covered in your voice and random lyrics spinning in my head 24/7. but fr, it threw me back in the days when I was heartbroken, still played a guitar and tried to write songs. I think this is what I was trying to write/perform and my past self feels all the feelings listening to this ep. still a lot of trauma to heal and emotions to unpack, but your music opened a door for me and I now have access to all this suppressed pain. thank you so so much, this is beautiful

Biz, I liked this ep when it came out (see ‘bopilation’ comment) but I wasn’t appreciating the sheer talent you have in the vocals category. In the past few weeks I’ve been trying more seriously to sing along with you, and I’m realizing that your ability to be highly flexible in syncopated rhythms is legitimately astounding. Since I’m not a professional or talented singer, my praise shouldn’t objectively mean much, but on a subjective ‘experiencing art’ level, you have blown my mind.

this is so so so kind it made me tear up a bit. I’m super self conscious about my voice because I have no ear for pitch & have been known to sing my own songs in the wrong key and not even realize it, I worked really hard with vocal lessons and stuff for this EP so thank you for noticing and for listening and taking the time to write this all out i❤️❤️ it really means a lot

@@upinurbiz I think the Venn diagram between talent and hard work is far closer to a circle than most people realize. Thank you either way for being vulnerable and putting your art into the world. Your music and video essays are excellent additions to the cannon of queer media, and I’m sure I speak for the crowd when I say that :)

Had to switch to my headphones because I really wanted to hear the words and understand the lyrics. If there's one critique, it would be to ask if you could update the captions to have the lyrics. In any case, listening with your headphones and paying attention (and patreon) helps. Very creative, you've achieved something I, a late 30s immigrant always wanted to do but never worked towards. So its great to see others follow their passions in a time where how to make money seems to be the very purpose of existence. Appreciate this work of art and hope to see you grow and create what you desire again. Cheers.

I think you're a pretty good singer, and I like the music, but I know I don't have good taste in music, so I can't offer you much validation beyond my personal enjoyment. But I grew up through the alt-rock 90's and heard many girl+feelings+guitar based bands in my time, and when I say you would have fit right in with them, I mean that in a good way. Authenticity never goes out of style.
