Someone spoiled him 100% ... it seems so fake and forced like he kept reading those comment and it stuck in his brain. As much as I love hxh the fans are the worst...they can't help but spoil every little thing in every little way, subtle or just crudely spoiling it. The black just represents Gon's light going out. Killua has emotions. He has to bite his lip and breath in to stay back crying when Gon said he was completely calm. He almost bled out to fish people and fleas for Gon, not to mention Gon told him back in Yorknew it's his job to stay calm and make the right decisions when Gon is being reckless and stupid.

My heart always breaks for Killua in this scene. Throughout the series Killua is always being the analytical one. Constantly informing Gon of every possibility and weighing the pros and cons to reduce any risks. In this arc Killua completely holds back. Never even bringing up the possibility to Gon that Kite couldn’t be saved. I guess it was a way to protect Gon and their friendship due to how traumatic the realization could be. And for it to result in what happens in this arc was always tragic to me.

It is shown in the anime. However, the 2011 version omits the fact that he's the one who told Gon his father was alive, so indirectly he was the reason Gon decided to be a hunter. It makes sense why he would be this mad over his death.

However, the anime cut it out because they weren't planning on making it to the ant arc, so they saw it as a waste of episodes. The anime was supposed to end after the phantom troupe, but it did so well they decided to continue.

Check out Madhouse studios, they don't do long-running anime like Hunter x Hunter. They do one or two seasons then pass it off to another animation studio like they did with One Punch Man. That has always been their business model, so hunter x hunter was a surprise.

Everyone knows Togashi takes random breaks and won't return for years. It would be stupid to assume that Togashi would finish the arc before they caught up since he had already been working on the ant arc for 9 years at that point. Togashi would only release around 10 chapters each year, so counting on him to finish anything would've been a terrible idea.

It's unfair to say that Killua doesn't give a shit about Kite. it's the same boy that was beating himself up when he thought that Kite was dead. Well, Kite IS dead, so Killua was right, but Gon was the one to convince Killua that there was a chance of saving him, that he was being controlled instead of dead, hence why Killua points out that they can't save Kite without Pitou, who is the one who knows what was done to Kite. Also, Killua is the one now who wants to protect an innocent life. Killua is no longer the boy we've met at the beginning of the series - he does feel for other people, he's just trained to keep calm. Gon (and you lol) was very unfair to him when he told him that Killua doesn't care bc he does. And he cares about Gon and how Gon is getting lost in his rage, being torn to pieces. Even if Killua didn't have the same bond with Kite that Gon had, he still respected Kite a whole lot and he feels responsible for what happened to him. The accusation that Gon threw at Killua is especially shitty when you consider that he was the one to tell Killua that his role in their friendship is to keep a cool head and reign in Gon when he's acting out of line. Remember that Killua had no friends before Gon, so even a comment like that is taken seriously. He's doing in this scene what Gon told him to do. Imho here you can see how their friendship isn't as balanced as one is lead to believe.

When you watch that scene many times you can actually feel all the pain killua is going trough but he keeps calm because he was trained to keep calm no matter what. gon is killuas light and when he sees that his light is fading that breaks his heart and not been able to do anything to help him. this is why this is my favorite anime of all times.

Kite was introduced in chapter 1 of the manga. He's the first character to ever appear in the series. He saved Gon from the mother foxbear, and introduced him to the world of hunters, something Gon didn't even know existed. Then, with the greatest revelation in Gon's life, told him that his father is still alive and is the greatest hunter he knows. This completely changed Gon's life forever. He had a purpose now, a goal. Kite's revelation absolutely carved the path to his new goal and life. That's why Gon went down the spiral of madness in the Chimera Ant Arc. Kite's a father figure. The one that allowed his all these opportunities in life, especially the chance of meeting his father

Gon obviously cares for Kite since he is his father's student and he is probably like a role model for him (I know they had more interactions in the manga and the 1999 hxh), Killua only knew Kite for a few days but that doesn't mean that he doesn't care at all especially since Kite saved their lives by giving them the chance to run away. Killua is here mainly because he cares about Gon, he faced death so many times just for Gon, he always tries to save Gon from any possible harm, his life goal is just to stay by Gon's side, his last thought before "dying" was him apologizing to Gon because he couldn't continue helping him, Killua is basically living just for Gon. He was staying clam and collected because having two extremely furious and raged people won't help any of them, his job is to stop Gon from doing stupid things just like Gon said in the Yorknew arc. Gon disregarded all of Killua's efforts by saying that he has it easy and that's just mean and cold, but despite all of that Killua swallowed his tears back to calm Gon down before he does something crazy. Gon is excused in that situation and he does apologize later on but it still hurts to hear those words come out of Gon's mouth, Killua doesn't deserve that. He felt helpless and blamed himself for not being able to relieve Gon's pain, this boy is so selfless that it hurts.

We've always known that gon and killua have always been like 2 parts to a whole, so in this scene we get to see how the two parts of a "human" act in such a complex and emotional situation. actually gon has known kite since he was a baby. in the 1999 version and in the manga kite saves gons life. gon wandered in to a bear type creatures territory and was about to be killed when kite stepped in and was forced to kill the creature in order to save gon. kite told gon how he forced himself to kill that creature in order to save him and that was selfish of gon and it taught gon the value of life or some shit. that is why gon is so mad, he’s known kite his entire life. idk why they’d leave such an important piece of info out of the anime

One of the best anime episodes ever... there is so much perfection in this episode but the most compelling to me is I genuinely thought gon would hurt Killua when he to be his best friend has to take on an antagonistic role against gon... basically the most concrete proof of gon being unhinged

I don't. Kite is important for Gon. He is his father's student. By getting closer to Kite, Gon's is getting closer to his dad, to the very idea of what his father considers a Hunter and why he left. Kite is his master, his model. If Gon wants to be a Hunter respected by his father, he needs to be like Kite. He admires Kite more than anyone in his life

Someone who only watched the HxH Anime( wich is the vast majority) knows Kites ans Gons past through a Flashback mid series. In the Manga that was like the very first scene to establish a bond between Gon and an uknown person, wich later on revealed to us as Kite.

Yeah but each of them represents loyality differently. Pitou is loyal to the king as a person, and will do everything to make the king happy, Pouf is loyal to the king as the icon of perfection and will do whatever he must to uphold that, even if that goes against the Kings will or angers him, while Youpi is just loyal to the king no questions asked and will do exactly what he is told when he is told, with no further thought put into that.
