I like that Pitou seems genuinely sorry for how things go. I feel like, because Gon, as rageful as he was, allowed Pitou to heal Komugi, Pitou honestly wishes they could've healed Kite, even if they would've immediately killed Kite and Gon, because they're enemies. Pitou definitely used a lie (being able to heal Kite) to get Gon to back off, but they probably wish they didn't need to.
@michaelhan2291Ай бұрын
I think it wasn’t even a lie. Iirc Pitou didn’t even recognize Gon or know who Kite was until he saw Kite’s body, at which point he remembered who Gon was

I don't understand how some watch this and think is cool. I've seen hxh so many times from beginning to end, and every time I watch this scene, I cannot do anything but cry. We spend so much time with gon and killua, we've seen how happy and hopeful gon is, we've seen him struggle with dangers so many times but never seen him suffer as much as this. the amount of grief and suffer he felt to end up doing this to himself and the pain of killua looking at his best friend like this, idk to me is not cool, not even the first time I saw it I was excited. That's why the chimera ants arc is one of the darkest arcs in shonen.

Can anyone explain why that translation of “his power is now equal to that of the king” came about even though it’s incredibly obvious he said nothing close to that? Is there something in the manga that actually says he’s equal to the King?
@mayhemmayhemmayhemАй бұрын
the power he unleashed is equal to the king bro
@noidsuperАй бұрын
The fact that he was able to effectively beat Pitou in 2 hits is more than enough to make that estimate. Her concern helps as well. It’s really unlikely that he’s not at the very least within the same ballpark.
@user-yx5ro8to3i29 күн бұрын
He was too strong. Pitou at her speed cannot do shit and was defeated in two hits. If she able to last a little bit longer or make hi too fight more ferociously we could see something. But he knocked her too easily his power was too much.

Ngl not a fan of the arguments you guys are making. Maybe I wasn’t paying attention and it was made exactly clear just how much more powerful Meruem was than Pitou for us to assume Gon was equal to the King. What it sounded like to me was Pitou was saying his fangs may reach the king rather than his power is equal, which is why I asked why the subtitles said that. I’m not saying I don’t believe that Gon here had similar power to that of Pre-rose Meruem. Anyway I did end up getting an answer somewhere else that yes, Pitou does say it in the manga, or rather it is implied

It always weird me out that people can't put two and two together regarding this scene, despite every character that sees Gon like this immediately recognizing the severity of the price Gon had to pay. Doing this a well is like Gon spitting in Kite's face. Kite died to protect Gon and Killua and people are really out here thinking he would've wanted Gon to throw away his entire future just to get revenge. This isn't Gon going Super Saiyan to deliver righteous justice, this is a kid with far too much power to handle throwing a tantrum that will end up hurting him more than it helps anyone else.

How stupid of you to compare someone having a mental break and thirst for revenge to a simple tantrum, People like you are mad lmao
@tashiyoedits3 ай бұрын
@@ananiashard9466 I mean… he knew Kite for about 2 weeks. Regardless of whether or not it was a mental break, it was certainly akin to that of a tantrum. He isn’t mature enough to understand his emotions. And, while it seems like lazy writing for a character to be this attached to another with less than a month of time knowing one another, it highlights Gon’s almost psychopathic nature, drawing a parallel between him and Mereum. The monster becomes human, and the human becomes a monster.
