Most animes have arcs tied to one big plot, you need to know the context to make sense of it. HxH is different because greed island or heaven’s arena are different settings with different characters and adventures. Not the same can be said for all animes.

Togashi is an absolute genius, the power structure of nen is so mathematical and the more its explored and explained the more it opens up new possibilities and there are almost no holes in the structure whatsoever, like in dragonball super how the power level structure eventually went out the window, all of a sudden android 17 is keepin up with ssblue goku, its nothin like that in hxh, the series nen structure stays very true and consistent throughout better than any other series in my opinion, its definitely without a doubt my favorite ''power/ability structure'' of any anime, above chakra, bankai, devil fruits, haki, stands, ki all of it.

This is what I LOVE about this show. They give you a tournament arc, don't even get to a fight with a Floor Master, but it ends PERFECTLY and everyone is (usually) satisfied. Togashi Yoshihiro is on some OTHER shit. Now if he'd just DO THE FUCKING MANGA. Dude has been going on and off for almost a decade now and NO IT'S NOT ALL BECAUSE OF BACK SHIT. He refuses to let ANYONE do any part of the work themselves without his obsessive first drafts and approval. If he really wanted to, he could be writing HxH while lying down, and have his assistants do all of the first drafts of the art all the way to the finished product. They've been working with him for YEARS and he refuses to give up that specific aspect. We still haven't had a single issue in 2019. It's fucking crazy. Togashi might be the best manga-ka of all time, but he needs to DO THE WORK.
