My budget for a decent cooler plus a premium powerplant is $1200 -$1300 ($600 + $600-ish)! So, i am happy that i just bought this bad boy for $339 (40% discount = $220 off MSRP)! For that price you get a 45L cooler with a premium compressor and decent build quality! I’m going to use that $220 savings and upgrade to the EcoFlow Delta 2 (instead of the River 2 Pro that i previously had on my short list) because of it’s increased versatility! I know there are newer and sexier coolers available but that price sealed the deal for me!

Thanks for the review. For $700 I can buy 350 bags of ice and won't use any power. Might have to run for more every 3 days, but still. If you have the room, freeze jugs of water for your trips. I like your videos on the fridges. I have a 12v fridge and reviews have been good. I tested it for several months and it ran great. Took on a camping/fly fishing trip and was great for almost a week then stopped chilling. It runs but not cooling down. Good think I still had a cooler for backup. Now have to deal with replacement. Someday will pull the trigger on an ICECO but need something at 30 to 35, space restrictions. I do have a question for you, what is the minimum spacing around the vents? I was told 2 inches and I wonder if that may be the issue. Thanks for the video.

They definitely need space to breathe. I don't even use the cover that some of these come with because the mesh over the vents is too restrictive. Don't place them in the sun either.

If you can afford it, the Xtar XP100 panels are the best as far as output goes, and two of the is even better. That said, the inexpensive Itehil panels work just fine too. We use them both, on every trip. Bodega just came out with a 200 watt panel that we'll be testing soon.

Hello Al! The device I used is available in most hardware stores and is called a Kill-A-Watt meter. They're not very expensive and can be used on any 110v appliance to see how it's performing. @@gonagain Fair enough! Thanks again for keeping us all informed. This evening I just finished replacing our simple crank vent with a MaxxFan, so I'll have to see how much that can control the heat in our trailer. 55 watts sounds high. 3.8 x 12 = 45.8 watts and still a bit high....? Did I do something wrong..? Help me, please... if it draws 55 watts about 50% of the time (30 minutes+27.5 watts per hour), how does that compute to 1.8k watts or 8 watts per hour..??
@gonagain3 жыл бұрын
Hi pjf! It's because it doesn't run that long per hour, even in 90 degree heat. That's where it will be in refrigerator mode on the ECO setting and at about 33-35 degrees F. If you set it to freeze at around 15F it will use about twice as much current and at 0F it will use about 3 times as much. To freeze you will also have it on "Max" mode. We always only use it as a refrigerator on our trips and stop for ice cream when the need arises! This ICECO has really great insulation and that helps a lot.

Hi Rick, Hi Linda. Ok, another Good Review. Interesting that there are multiple different types and features. All Great Information. Thank You.---On a similar subject, I'm looking & hoping to find a company that makes Small-Portable-AC Units. (I finally received the three mini-ac units from a company called 'Blaux') and All three Didn't Work At All. A Complete Scam. I did get a slight refund Twice, while waiting for almost 2-1/2 months, but I'm stuck with 'plastic targets'. In Any case, is there to your knowledge a Miracle Company that makes a REAL/TRUE mini AC suitable for our needs in our Cargo Rigs??? I have only found One Such animal at $999, plus another $400 for a rechargeable battery that fits into the bottom. I forget the name, but it will be easy to find. It has Two Large exhaust pipes and is easy to identify. The problem is, the battery only has a 5-hour life span. Definitely Not Enough for our needs. One would think that this issue of a Must-Needed piece of equipment would be Available at this Stage of the game??? I'm Still looking, but maybe you have an idea or Inside Connection with the different manufacturers that you present & review??? Rick, Help, 🥴 we Nomads Need something of this sort. I will let you know if I find anything that Really Works. (I Truly had thought this issue would have been addressed by now) I'm Stumped. Also, I'm Relieved that you have Fixed your Transmission. Good Show👌👏👏👏

Good question Vincenzo and I don't have an answer for you. The only thing I see on the CT forums is that most people suggest using the minisplits, of which I have no knowledge. We're able to stay in the less humid areas and higher elevations or latitude to avoid most of that. I have thought that, if absolutely necessary, and I found myself having to camp in high humidity, I would opt for a small, inexpensive 110v window AC and run it off a generator until the evening cooled down a bit.

@@gonagain Oh Nice, thanks for the response and info Rick. The moment I sent my question yesterday I dove into the 'mini ac/mini swamp cooler guest and came up with One that actually has a compressor. So before I fall down due to extreme heat, I will research this One-Unit and get all the specs and pass them on to you. After being 'burned' slightly by those other Scammers, I am willing to take the plunge and purchase this new item. Aswell I've stayed up at higher altitudes this summer, but most of the areas I stayed at had a Limited Time Stay and burned twice the fuel to get up the hill. Not a recipe for future thought. So, here I go on another search & destroy mission, and I'll get back with you as soon as I find a winner,🤞keeping my fingers crossed. ✌Thanks Again.
