Hey! The floor subfloor is called Rainer. You can get your own from Campervan HQ, or we can get it for you for local pickup in Costa Mesa.

I have the Transit 350T XLT van. i.e. the highest and longest by Ford (2017 model). The CompassVan kit was installed to raise it up 2.5" plus installed larger tires (not wheels) giving a further 1" ground clearance. The extra length allows for a wet bathroom with a standup shower, little sink, clothing storage and a toilet. With the larger tires, the difference is a simple 10% addition to the speed seen on the speedometer. Ford had no ability to alter the odometer/speedometer readings. Ex. 64 mph is actually 70 mph. Not the best insulation but has a power awning. The extra ground clearance has a tendency to push around the van while driving in high wind conditions and it gets poorer gas mileage, but not even close to my old Ford E350, V10 gas guzzler. Dual LFP batteries provide all of my DC 12V supply with a single 100 W solar panel on the roof (useless in winter, great in summer) supplemented by two solar suitcases for an additional 300Ws. The rear doors also have an outside shower. Water heater/furnace is a Truma CombiPlus (very quiet and works great). Traditional fresh, gray & black tanks. The van is best suited for two people. The extra length makes a huge difference, as did the lift kit.

I love it! I have a 2019 T250 and I have been looking for a Ram Mount base just like you have mounted to your dashboard. I looked on the Ram Site with no luck. Do you have a link for the piece that mounts to the dash? Once again Awesome set up on your van!!

The Goal Zero has inferior battery chemistry. Why is it a better choice than the EcoFlow Delta Pro? Or even a Bluetti?

You are right that the battery chemistry is inferior to some other systems. Footprint of the system is still a large consideration for us, and it is one of the smallest with decent capacity. We've used Bluetti in the past, and are testing two other systems, TerraVan Solar, and the EcoFlow Power Kit. They all have Pros and Cons. A video comparison sounds like a good idea.

We came up with an electrical system design that fits a 200Ah LiFePO4 battery and 2000W inverter/charger in a locking drawer accessed from the rear of the van. Above the drawer is the fixed part of a rock and roll bench bed. We call it the PowerSlide.

@@gonemobilevans Great to hear. I'm also looking at the Transit Trail, but finding it hard to justify the premium Ford is looking for. A fellow on FB told me Ford was able to drop the front diff on the Trail to get a better CV angle with the 2.25" lift. Frankly I think the VC front lift is fine if it fits the 245/75R16 (30.5") and those rear Falcon adjustables are awesome.

@@Espiritiv True, the Trail is about $8K less than a low-roof AWD Sprinter with similar lift, suspension, and AT wheels/tires (this choice is a no-brainer). The Trail is about $4.2K more (from the factory) than a similarly optioned Transit with after market lift, suspension, and AT wheels/tires. Is the Trail worth the extra $4.2K? It may be if you consider that the Trail Qlift carries a factory warranty and you are rolling the exterior mods into the purchase loan...something you can't do with after market. Plus you get a vehicle that is off-road ready straight from the dealer, some different exterior plastic, and a Trail badge...which may help with resale value. In many parts of the country (including mine), you can order a Trail right now for model year 2023 and not have to wait for the model year 2024 window to open. If your dealer is charging a market premium, find another dealer.
