I think it's good to give viewers a peek at the amount of work that goes into your weekly episodes. This is only the post-production, Folks. I can't imagine how much thought and planning goes into preproduction. And then there is the execution of the plan! Those of us who work in production know. Thank you for all that you share with us. You tell great stories.

And now I know why your videos look so great and very professional when my wife and I watch every Sunday. I have been watching since the RV days which convinced us to sell everything and live full time in a Class A RV. When you switched to sailing and neither one of you had any experience in sailing I thought you were crazy but it took a lot of guts and determination in setting a path and executing the plan. We are inspired every week with the topics you share and the experiences you go through. I know when we run into difficulties I just think back on one of your episodes where things went sideways and how you kept your focus and resolved the problem. Great job as always. Just remember to have fun and love each other.

Someone may have already mentioned, but I hope you have placed a reservation for Starlink Satellite service. Once they approve it for moving vehicles like RVs and boats, and once they get enough satellites up, it should prove to be a huge difference in your ability to communicate and also safety. Love everything about your videos. Top quality and professional. I work in episodic entertainment and your work is just as good, and considering the two person crew/talent and remote locations, likely better. Sometimes I don't know how you do it week in and week out and am thankful for the rest you both get when you take a week or two off. From various aspects of shooting, creating a story, editing, music, sound edit, VO, etc. All just really well done.

I've heard a common rule of thumb for KZbin content providers is one hour of editing per one minute of video. Clearly theirs is somewhat longer due to the constraints of boat life and the above average quality of their videos.
@jeffcanar72943 жыл бұрын
Delos and Uma have done similar episodes, and yeah, these sailing channels are putting in every bit of 40+ hours of effort per week, for a 20-25 minute video. So yeah, their views/patreons/subscribers etc... do enable the lifestyle. But to get the views necessary, it's a full time job equivalent of effort. These folks are lounging around day after day. Far from it.

This is exceptional behind the scenes goodies. I love seeing the work flow and what process you use. The ROG hardware is in a class of its own and is always my top choice in any pick for hardware. Somewhere around 80% of the computer hardware that makes up the 7 PCs within arms reach of my workstation is all ASUS and ROG. I'm curious if you've ever considered building a full desktop into a cubby in the boat, they can get quite compact and being able to replace parts would seem a very coveted feature with the moisture exposure. There are also PC builds that completely submerge the motherboard and primary components into cooking oil which would eliminate moisture impact to components. I deeply wish some of us land lubbers could help you with editing but it would take a tremendous amount of uploading to get any useful help with the process. Sounds like a NAS, or Network Access Storage, might be a good idea, they are great for working with files between devices, massive storage potential, and having lots of built in redundancy with HDDs in RAID in case any might fail (hot swapping drives for healing the RAID). Never enough tech details! Jason is right about that lol.
