Looking for my 3rd gong. Not clear what would match well with my 36 tam tam Meinl symphonic. I learned a lot from this video. 🙏🏿

You mentioned the planetary gongs being tuned to an Earth tone. I am doing sound healing with crystal and Tibetan bowls. Everything is tuned to 432, my room is 12 x 20, 10 ft ceiling. I will be moving my set up to other rooms. More important to me is the sound than portability. What would you recommend??? I might be using microphones, and a small pa to facilitate a larger room and use effects. Thank you for this informative vid. Excellent resource

Bronze gongs are a great way to get into gongs if you're just getting started, but they're also great for people with a lot of experience. They're great gongs, and they're affordable. I'd suggest starting around 26" or 28" at the smallest. Below that size, they lose complexity and depth that you look for in a meditative sound experience. My favorite of the bronze gongs is the Dark Star. I also like the Atlantis, the Mother Tesla, and the Subatomic. But a Chau Gong or a Wind Gong are also great.

What type of affordable gong would you recommend to someone who is wanting to incorporate it into sound baths? I currently use crystal / tibetan singing bowls & an ocean drum.

It depends on what you want to do with the gong and the size of the space that you'll be playing in, but generally the gongs start to open up a bit more at 26". A 26" Chinese gong would likely be the best bang for your buck if you wanted a gong on a stand. They do get deeper and a bit more complex with size, but you can still do quite a bit with a gong in that 26-30" range. My personal favorites are the Atlantis, Dark Star, Wind, and Eventual Horizon gongs! If you were wanting to walk around the room and play the gong in your hand, I would recommend something a bit smaller like an 18" Chinese gong with a handle. You could use a 20" or 22" as a hand gong, but it may get a bit strenuous after a little while. I'll put some links to all of our exclusive and traditional gong styles, with a video example of each size to make it easier to compare: gongs-unlimited.com/collections/unlimited-exclusive-chinese-gongs gongs-unlimited.com/collections/unlimited-traditional-chinese-gongs Thank you for watching and good luck on your sound healing journey!

What gong do I use when on a mountain? I want to strap one on my pack for epic healing and hike with it but also to make an impressive outdoor sound.

I really like our Mother Tesla Gongs. They're bronze, highly-durable, they hold up to weather. The main issue, I think, would be size and weight limitations. Gongs below 26" diameter (22 lbs) tend to lose some complexity. If you want an epic sound, I'd probably recommend something over 32" diameter (34 lbs), but that might be kind of unruly to hike up a mountain with: gongs-unlimited.com/products/unlimited-mother-tesla-gongs?variant=36540506573

I want to get the grandmother tesla with nipple, can you talk about Gongs with nipple?. I can hear that nipple gives focus boom but separate from wash without loosing the focus
@gongsunlimited Жыл бұрын
The nipple will focus and contain the sound, making it a more bell-like and slightly brighter, but still contained to the fundamental tone without much crash, making a very calm, meditative overall sonic experience. While it focuses the sound, I do think you lose some of the harmonic complexity and resonance that can be built over the top with non-nipple gongs. But I think the Great Mother Tesla Gong is a good option if you want something with a nipple, as it is a relatively small nipple and there's still plenty of complexity to be found. Here's a link to that one: gongs-unlimited.com/products/unlimited-great-mother-tesla-gongs?variant=41523133874368
