I just listened to this twice, lying on my bed, I'd never heard it before. The first time I kept drifting in and out of sleep. I had lots of random thoughts. I felt slight tingles at times, also sudden stabs of pain. I played it again and went into a very deep sleep. I dreamt I was listening to it and I was flying around the room and breathing really fast. My mum who died 2 years ago came to me, held my hand and told me everything was OK. I then (in the dream) wanted to wake up but I couldn't and I was asking people on a staircase to help me. A man stopped and rang for help. I told him I had been listening to a gong and couldn't wake up. Then I woke up shaking my head. I have never had an experience like it.

yes, with these big gongs computer and phone speakers are often incapable of recreating the low frequencies

That was incredible. I thought I’d sit down and listen to the first few minutes of it but instead went into a deep meditation and listened to the entire hour without intention. The performance transferred well to my home theater system. I appreciate the effort you put into the quality of the recording. I am literally standing up as another person.

I've not liked gong baths, painfully overstimulating. But I do love still, single interval sub-bass tones,, and I gave this a sample. Certain meditation music has aways induced meditation practice whenever I find it - or it finds me. The very first tones immediately drew me in. My ongoing meditation of utter tranquility, beauty, wisdom and the healing that results, became in this, a shamanistic-like journey,.Initially, an opening of and compelling descent into an underworld of extreme depth, at first a vast dark cavern, evoking fear, then awe, then arrival at the base. Then a cleansing, and spontaneously, a remarkable rise and restoration back to here and now. As though it found me, now ready.

I truly love how the sound of the gong resonates with such depth and purity - it carries a magical and cleansing quality that fills the space. It feels like a gentle, harmonious embrace for the mind and soul. I’m curious: which microphone was used to record this gong? Or perhaps several microphones were used to capture its full richness and vibrational space? The sound is so clear and vibrant, it reflects the care and mindfulness behind this recording. Thank you for this beautiful moment of sound. 🙏✨

I’m listening to this now. You tube queued this after listening to another hour plus one where 12 gongs were used. Within seconds of this one starting I knew I would like it more. The 12 gong one used paiste’s which I had assumed were the top of the line. I was surprised how sonorous this one is. Very impressed with the quality of both the instrument and the gongladier. Yeah, I know it’s a made up word.

Playing at home with my 36" wind gong, the instrument in this video feels three times as deep if not more. Are these sub bass tones even audible in person? Is this just a great recording with excellent microphones? Could my gong at home produce a recording akin to this with the right technology and technique?
@uglypinkeraser9 ай бұрын
I'm starting to wonder if the size and characteristics of the room itself is a factor in what frequencies i can hear from the instrument. Certainly the harmonics and standing wave patterns would be different in a different room...
@gongsunlimited8 ай бұрын
The biggest factor in determining the pitch is the size of the gong. This is a 50" gong, which will be much deeper, more complex, and more dynamic than a 36" gong.
