I'm so glad that the protagonist voice feature is fully controllable. When I played this game on my Nintendo Switch, I think the Joycon drift affected my gameplay more than I thought. The prompt kept popping up ALL THE TIME, and I got sick of it so fast, especially when I learned that it technically does nothing. I was worried that it popped up uncontrollably for everyone, and that it would irritate the Grumps like it did me. Funny enough that is basically how it works in many anime. It's a mythological/anime reference not a tennis one (although it may be a reference to a tennis anime). Although I think the mythological method is better than the anime method. In Japanese mythology it operated exactly like that trope in sci-fi movies like Event Horizon where they fold a piece of paper and stick a pencil through. Essentially folding space so that with a single step you move great distances.

First we're treated to the devious schemes of Kokichi backfiring in a comedic fashion like a Saturday morning cartoon villain (by the way, that was satisfying, funny and absolutely deserved), then another of our friends is lost all of a sudden. Which is what I expected and feared at the same time.

Ryoma being a Prince of Tennis reference made me really happy when this game came out. It's not that popular outside of Japan anymore but I was obsessed as a teenager. The main character's name is Ryoma as well and they even use the same catchphrase "Mada mada dane" or "You've still got a long ways to go", as they translated it :)

I don't understand their aversion to story and character interaction in a long form game like this. They'll spend most of an episode reading and riffing on Zelda's diary, but can't handle one nonsequitor in this series. I simply don't get it.

They're completely different games. One is an action adventure that has a bit of text as a special hidden thing that isn't mandatory and, thus, is your choice to look at it, whereas Danganronpa is all text and the side tangents are just more mandatory text that you have to see to progress the story even if you don't want to. The aversion comes from one being a secret, the other being mandated

@mrmo4569 I suppose that makes sense, but at the same time you know what you're getting into when you press start. It's a visual novel, why be annoyed at the text when it's a text based game? It would be just as easy to not play instead of being miserable the whole time.
