I read also the AAC's massive exit fee drops like a rock if you give 27 months or more warning, so the Pac-12 could add those AAC schools in 2027 and the Pac 12 and those schools will pay FAR less money, the Pac 12 would just need to add one more football school so they are good for 2026, someone like Texas St, Sacramento St or UCONN. FYI Bay Area media source is reporting they are in discussions with UCONN football that would include UCONN men's and women's hoops having a long term non conference scheduling arrangement with the Pac 12 that would feature things like home and away games UCONN vs Gonzaga and UCONN vs San Diego St plus prestige neutral site games like UCONN vs Gonzaga at Madison Square Garden.

That is what I've been saying but I thought it dropped simply next year not with a longer notice. In any case, that 8th school might have to be an AAC school in order to avoid a school that is not up to par. So I say reoffer Memphis upto 20m to come for the 26 season and keep the 2.5m offer to the three others to come in year 2027.

100% they should get Memphis now. What a basketball conference that would be. Memphis plus a Texas school gets you nine in football and ten in all sports. Go get a media deal and that's a great basketball conference.

UTSA, Add Tulane for ten, Southern Florida for 11. 4 time zones. Let UNLV or Air Force reconsider for 12 football. Add Grand Canyon for 14 basketball. But only one AAC school this year. The three others after their exit fee drops next year.

Memphis biggest crowd last season for basketball was over 15k vs. Clemson. The biggest conference game was 13k vs. FAU. The biggest crowd in the old AAC was 18k vs. Houston. Current AAC doesn't have a team that can attract that crowd when they play Memphis. Football it's even worse

I think Gonzaga’s basketball team will be NCAA competitive after Mark Few but if they have some years where they are not they will most likely be making more media money then if they stayed in WCC and they will get part of the revenue of other winning PAC 12 team winnings.

According to the IRS Grand Canyon University is NOT a for profit school anymore, the "controversy" is purely with the Dept of Education who it appears are going after them claiming they are still for profit but for purely political reasons because Grand Canyon is a religiously based institution and the current politically appointed leadership of the Dept of Education does not like that ideologically.

If it’s 10 million dollars cheaper to join in 2027 then that should be doable. PAC 12 probably wants at least 9 all sports teams anyway but probably is willing to ride with 8 football teams for 1 year. Why not just sign a contract to join in 2027 rather than 2026.

This remade conference has schools over the last 3 years that outperforms all but the Big 12 and ACC. The remade Pac 12 is a clear No.3 in the pecking order with 5 teams making the tournament. Gonzaga and SDSU have been the Natl Championship in the last four years. Smh.

St marys also would be a good add for the gonzaga st marys rivalry and more money for st marys after joining compared to wcc would help them improve their facilities/ recruits.Add st marys Memphis and thats no question improves the conference in hoops.

Who are you referring to? If you are talking about Gonzaga then you don’t watch college basketball. If SDSU isn’t good then you need to tell Gonzaga because they are 3 - 1 against Gonzaga since 2010 with 2 home losses. We have the internet but people don’t even use it.

Boise State has beaten enough teams to prove their strength. SDSU and Gonzaga make this more than a legitimate conference for basketball. It's now a powerhouse for hoops. Football it's the best conference outside the power conferences. Why you drinking that Jim Jones juice through your sippy cup?
