thank god i have "good ears" then i guess, because other than the awkward shape, feel and how you have to put them in, im struggling to find any other issues, even with how they sit on the outside of your ear they manage to have more bass, be more clear and have more depth, and be even louder than my buds+, i thought the sound would be washed out because of it, but nope, and quite frankly a lot of the issues i thought these would have, they never had. I mean they would have been literally perfect if they were shaped like regular in-ear earbuds like the buds and buds+ or sth, but i guess i wouldnt care as much if these had full anc, but they only have low frequency anc, and dont get me wrong, they block out like more than 90% of low frequency sounds and it does work pretty amazingly, but still i would've rather preferred the full anc for these at the small expense of some more battery life plus because of there being a lot less of a good seal due to their shape, it would actually make better use of full anc. Other than that the price of these with what features they got and the quality they have is pretty amazing

I agree that there are hit or miss but in my opinion, I really love these. I own the Icon X, Buds, Buds +, and received the Buds Live today. Again, in my opinion, these exceeded my expectations. The sound quality was amazing especially considering they are open ear buds. I was satisfied with the bass but do wish the highs we a tad brighter. I do wish Samsung used the ambiance like the buds + because they can get loud! I felt there were louder than the Buds+ die to the open design. Oh and the comfort is hands down the best feature. I got these because of the noise cancellation which are just decent yet better than the Buds+ which picks up all background noise. Overall, I'm satisfied. But I will keep my Buds+ due to their hearing aid like feature with the ambiance noise.

These galaxy buds live are awesome!! Just got mine today. The bass is punchy.. but, doesn't overpower the midrange or trebile. The volume is very good. Plenty of volume at 8 outta 10 fell open. But, not like apple airpods. I love mine.

I think the ANC depends on where you are and what your expectations of the ANC are. Samsung has never implied that it will block out all sound. there marketing on this is that it will block out low frequency, and for me working in a shop it is a MUCH better listening experience with ANC on. therefore making there claims spot on. Another good video though🍻

I just got a pair of Buds Live, and I have to say, its perfect for me. Something I can use throughout the entire day. Sound quality is great, ANC is enough for me and the fit is PERFECT. However I can definitely see how some people wouldn't like the fit. So if you are lucky enough to have an ear hole that will fit these, 90% guaranteed that you'll enjoy these. I have cheaper Soundpeats Trueengine 3 SE's for workouts. The Buds Live are great for an office setting or if you're at a cafe or something. Glad I bit the bullet.

These are the best overall daily earbuds, I've owned. Coming from airpods 2. I've owned airpods pro, sony wf1000xm3 (better sound), samsung galaxy buds, soundcore libertys air 2, etc.... Really it's a matter of personal preference, if you prefer open ear design, I suggest trying them out! Call quality is great, and sound quality is above average.

Agreed! These are honestly the only pair that actually stay in my ears and are super comfortable without giving me ear fatigue. ANC isn't a big deal for me as I can still get the most enjoyment out of them despite the lack of it's active noise cancelling

Gotta say I love my beans. I got them for work for phonecalls and comfort since I have to wear them all day and they preform great for me! To me they actually sound the best on the Normal setting because I tend to listen to a lot of alternative and it gives the kick drums more texture.

I only agree with the anc isn't great but samsung never said the anc is great and the sound of them is great they sound better then thr buds plus and those was in your ear buds and are surely better then airpods pro and that the price of these should be 100 dollars no the price point of them at 170 is ok name 5 earbuds that sound better then these for around the same price

Orayt, just got mine this night...or yeh u can say today. All I can say is I needed to adjust as I was used to my previous buds which was the Xiaomi Airdots and in those earbuds the sound is more like earphones whereas in the earbuds live, it sounds headphones like. For the distance on how long can you be apart from it, you can be apart from it for a short ditance but any longer and you will hear distorted robot-like sounds from whatever you're listening. If there is a wall in between, dont bother, instant distortion....or maybe it was just at that moment but meh I still need some time to be wuth this thing. For the ANC (Active Noise Cancelling) it's not great but it does the job for a tinny bit. When I enable it, it puts a slight pressure in my ear (kinda like what happens when you are in an airplane but just half of it). For voice assistant, I just use "Hey Google" and it does the job. For the touch feature on the buds, I had difficulty on finding where it is as it is small which is good and slightly bad as I just said, I dunno where tf is it in my ear HAHAHAHA Overall, buy it, if you got the money ofc. It sounds like you are wearing headphones except you can hear your surroundings better. Have a good day.

In my opinion , I guess they designes the galaxy buds live in beans/half-ear design's for more comfort feeling, but I still feel the half-ear is most comfort compared to this. For ANC func feels like not necessary/suitable on this bcos it's open ear design. For reason code in aac but not aptx, I guess it maybe the game mode on this buds, bcos aac is lower latency than aptx for games! But anyway they doing a nice job with sound & design looks, it look nice & tidy. Thankyou for the review on this, cool man!

not worth upgrading from the buds plus. They should have made 2 diff kinds, the buds live and like...an upgrade to the buds plus like 'buds ultra' or something. With bigger batteries in the case and the earphones. BUT if i was given them for free, I wouldn't decline that lol

Totally with you Keith, for open ear design, it's probably really good. But I am too, very big on wanting a seal, so they are not for me. Very interesting. The kinda funny thing, is, they put the ANC in the open design.. But to me, I would've loved it on the very good already Galaxy buds plus, which didn't have it haha.. But, hopefully the next version then. Cuz buds plus are great as is, and I'm big Samsung Galaxy myself; but added ANC would've been truly epic and probably made them top on the market driving if price was similar ish and ANC quality pretty good. Especially being how good they did with those mics regarding call and ambient quality. But these are interesting for those who really like this type, for sure.. Good review man! 👍🏼

Well sound quality wise it won't be as good as equally priced or even some cheaper rubber tipped earbuds, and that's to be expected, but the reality is not everyone likes to wear the rubber tip or even can wear those (could be painful for some) type of buds, and this is still definitely a great alternative for someone who wants a decent sound quality, well known brand, so call "premium", half in-ear earbuds And it certainly better that what apple airpods have given us, yet they still manage to make it cheaper

Now my ear canals are pretty shallow. Which is why I can’t wear Apple Airpods. Even the AirPod Pros have issues staying in. Do you think this could be an issue with these?

I personally prefer a very tight seal than ANC because it works really well BUT keeps prices down to something reasonable.

Hey Keith, thanks for the review bud. I completely understand where you are coming from. As you know I’m new to the wireless earbud market. I had originally bought the Soundcore Liberty Pro 2 and had an issue in which I had to return them. I had heard BIG things about these and am so happy I waited. For me, the open ear concept is perfect (but I dislike the Airpods with a passion even tho I am a HUGE Apple fan). I find these on the dynamic EQ setting are FAR better than the Soundcore Liberty Pro 2 I had. I guess it’s bcuz of the open ear design. They fit super easy and are really comfortable. I’ve worn them extensively since getting my advance pair last week. I completely agree Keith, it’s going to be hit and miss depending on the person. It’s going to be a either LOVE EM or HATE EM type relationship. As always, thanks the review and we’ll see you in the next one 🇨🇦

Buds Live is a disappointment for me. It is more comfortable but the performance is below Buds Plus. Buds Plus is the best among the 3 Samsung earbuds.

I just got mine and I'm having one major problem. When on a phone call, people keep saying I sound very low. I hear them fine. I don't know how to fix this. I've reset them, disconnected / reconnected.

That's strange, maybe it's a defective pair? I have them and phone calls are crystal clear for me. Whether it be on my end or the other person, they hear me very clear. Try getting a replacement and see because you definitely shouldn't have that issue.

Had to send them back. Don't feel they're a better ear bud or a better value than the Buds Plus and 2) the ANC is not solid enough to justify the cost. HOWEVER - I think Samsung is onto something special here with that design. If they can somehow make a version that does enter the canal to improve the sound seal I think this could be the design of the future. I personally loved the fit and look of the ear buds. Still by far the best open style ear buds in the game - just not my cup of tea.

Since you listed all of the Pros....... Cons. 1. The wearable app requires you to allow all permission all the time only. They give you the option to deny or only allow while using the app, but if you chose either of those it will close out the app and you won't be able to use it. 2. You have no control over what is allowed. If you don't want Bixby on your device... Too bad, you don't want it to have your location all the time..... Too bad, Calendar, Contacts, microphone, SMS etc. too bad. If you go into your device and stop any of them you're no longer allowed to listen to music. ( I only want to hear music. You don't need to invade my privacy to listen to music) 3. The Bluetooth sucks, all songs sound chopped and screwed when running. Paired my buds with the watch 3 and my music sounds like a scratched CD. The Bluetooth is extremely choppy when running. The music was smooth while in the house but as soon and I started to jog they kept loosing signal and quickly reconnecting. (yes I offline downloaded one of my Playlist from Spotify on my watch) who's to blame the new watch or the new buds or the company who made them both? 4. The speaker is the small area on the front tip which means these have to be perfectly placed in your ear which takes a bit. You will hear you left sounding better than your right, only to adjust the right where it then sounds better than the left. 5. It's 2020 I thought we were done with shiny. Can we get a Matt color? 6. No wall charger, I get it I have about a thousand of them anyway, but it's the principle. I do like a lot though, They didn't fall out of my ear not once in a three mile run in Arizona 111 degree weather. The charging case is pretty bad azz. Getting the buds to fit in you ear is easy but you gonna have to do some fishing to get the speaker to align with your ear canal while making sure they don't fall out. Update #3 so I replaced the last pair of buds Saturday 8/15, went running with the new ones today 8/17 and they worked flawless at first. Then about a mile in we went right back to the crappy Bluetooth scratched cd sound, where the audio goes in and out. I noticed that when I hold my wrist up by my ear it goes back to working well. Before sending them back this time I'm going to use my Bose qc30 with my galaxy watch 3 that way I can rule out the new watch connection. I will have my girl use the kidney beans on her galaxy watch to see if its doing the same crappy Bluetooth thing with hers.

The aim of the live buds is to have an open design for people who needs to always hear the surrounding. May be in office etc where they'll need to respond. The ANC is there to eliminate passive noise like an Aircon etc. It's aim is to not get a full immersion into the sound.
