Two things can be simultaneously true: 1) they think cards give everyone a bad experience 2) they value your enjoyment slightly less than winning in the moment Real people value multiple things simultaneously. They might really believe its unhealthy, but just value winning significantly more. It doesn't mean they don't find it unhealthy. Why do you think values are binary? Real people can favor one value over another all the time. It doesn't make their other values less real. And what's the alternative? They'd clearly rather have a fighting chance in a flawed game than otherwise. It's mainly just a really weird look to be proud of philosophical purity. Other similar examples of this type of argument: - "You think wealth disparity is a problem, and yet you're not donating all your excess money away, curious?????" - "You think healthcare needs fixing and yet you still go to the doctor, curious?????" - "You think our government has problems, and yet you don't run as a politician, curious????" These are all weirdly puritanical arguments, and they specifically gate-keep complaints about a system to only those who do not benefit from it--a minority so small, that, under these arguments, change should never be advocated at all. It's a really weird philosophy that let's you feel good about doing nothing.

I say ban it all together. I'm personally not a big fan of "this wipes my opponents entire board with one card" kind of cards. Sure you can negate it, but then they play the 2nd one because its not once per turn. "but you give up your battle phase", yeah you give up your battle phase to wipe your opponents entire board (and usually this means they have next to nothing in hand left) and then you get full combo so they cant play next turn. It's not a healthy card at all.

So a card that I think is kinda nuts (especially now since purrelly is out) is herald of the abyss. For just 1500 life points you can call a monster type and attribute, you force your opponent to send a card of that type from the field to the graveyard(gets by unaffected monsters since it affects the player not the monster) and then it stops monsters of the same type and attribute from using there effects. It’s disruptable yes but when it goes off it’s devastating

It only stops monsters with the same name as the one sent from activating their effects, which means unless you play a deck that ends on exactly one tower like Purrely or ends on different types/attributes for every monster the card is cheeks

I think if Ultimate slayer was a quickplay so it had uses going first or second like Forbidden Droplet it would get more use. As it is, its basically a worse DRNM, though you can still try to OTK after using it unlike DRNM, also its targeting requirement brings it down as most of the worst boss monsters cant be targeted anyways.

I like Ultimate slayer. I see it as a "fair" board breaker. It will get slightly better with the addition of Golden Cloud Beast, which is a great synchro target that can bounce a face up card when sent to the grave. The problems with it, at least in the MD format coming up, is that Arise Heart stops it from being activated. Also Purrely Noir can be unaffected by it. It isn't a quick play either, so that is another downside. It also targets, so that is a problem when it comes to cards like Spright Elf or spell/traps that can dodge the effect entirely. It's also kinda expensive to use in MD. For fusions you have N'tss and Garura. Or the Fossil Fusions for cheaper options. Links would be Tri-Brigade Ferrijit to cycle 1 or Bucephalus, which would send Garura. And it's a UR itself. That's a handful of potential URs. And it might not even do enough to justify it using over Dark Ruler. Or even Book of Moon/Eclipse. I use it in Labrynth sometimes because I like the animation and I have all the cards to make it work, but i only use it in the trap variation.

Clockwork Night is a fun one- turns a single Cyber Dragon into a mass contact fusion removal by making everyone a machine. Unfortunately it doesn’t work on Ariseheart since it needs to send to materials. It’s GY effect is also good in earth machine decks.

With Ultimate Slayer there are like three things holding it back from being a main staple: The card itself is partially format dependent, unless a majority of decks use the exact same summon mechanic, chances are you won't have in your extra the type to counter an opponent's boss. It's strength comes largely as being a Game 2 option in best of 3s, where you add it and the extra deck cards needed to counter a specific deck you're facing, but such a thing doesn't exist in Master Duel since every duel there is best of 1. Very few decks have any space they can trim out from their extra deck to afford using it, majority either go through most of it during their combos or need it as backup if their board gets broken. It's far from being a weak card but the requirements it has makes it difficult to consider worth using, especially when it comes to competitive you always want a card to display immense results instantly, and it doesn't help that it's a 3-of UR which is not in any of the selection packs, making the best way to attain it being 90 UR points which could've been used towards any other staple instead.

Ghost cherry is good but you have to know how to tech it in a deck. With it you also need to know the timing on when to use it. What it does is banish a extra deck monster and then banish all the same extra deck monsters your opponents has. So if you went against that ftk that uses numeron dragon then you can just banish it with ghost cherry so they can't do the ftk on you. Same with Kash you can do this with Diablosis. It's not the best card but you can ruin some plans if you know how with the card. You can do the same on teralament players too.

Ultimate Slayer was actually a big help in getting me to Diamond the first time back when it was the highest rank, I think the reason it's not used is because it's really a going second card, I only ever use it for going second decks now, the funniest thing though is that the card came out with an animation so Konami must have really wanted people to play it but nobody does

Ultimate slayer is something I used quite often, mostly because I had 3 of them when I was rolling for sth else. But it's being very format dependent and quite useless against non-ED decks. It also eats up extra deck space and target, but on the bright side, it fucks up a lot of common bosses back then like baronne, chengying, mirrorjade, tear fusions, redoer, etc.

I still play Plaguespreader all the time in 60 card Chaos decks and Necroface FTK.. It's not a once per turn effect. It can stack a card that you want to mill and then easily go into something like Chaos Ruler since Bystials are level 6. You can also just use it as Xyz material to prevent it from banishing itself and there's some crazy generic rank 2s like Mannequin Cat.

kashtira ogre Unicorn and fenrir are all trigger effects, so a monster activates, then on the next chain after the monster effect resolves, you can activate the kash monsters, hope this helps in future

also you're probably going to find this out later in the duel, but "Kashtira preparations" can only summon from the hand or the banish pile, birth is the one that summons from the grave or banish, however you don't want to called by a kash in the grave as they can still use birth to bring it back as birth doesn't target

Forced Back counter trap card, WHen your opponent normal summons a monster, negate that monster's effects and return it back to the hand. I run 3 of these always, it is hilarious and can sometimes straight up shut down opponents' openers. I have never seen another player use this card though hehe.

I don’t really think it’s a staple (and I’m guessing most people never heard of it cause they always react to it 5 turns after it’s played), but I have a burn deck that uses a card known as “Aroma Jar”. Chances are you probably have the card (or not), but you don’t actually play it. Personally, I’d say it’s a better version of “Marshmallon”. Once flipped, it has the following effects: *Can’t be destroyed by battle* *Lets you gain 500 life points every time a player (either you or your opponent) ends their turn* Besides the players that use “b#### on the floor” (Baronne De Flour), most of the players I faced kept attacking Aroma Jar all confused, so I’d say that it’s a good stalling card

DRNM sees a tonne of play - probably more than droplet in recent times. It was mandatory in spright format (both master duel and tcg) since they had 4+ troublesome interruptions and sending your entire hand to the gy isn’t really the ideal way to start your turn - no need to kill your opponent that turn if you can just set up your full-strength board, beat over their board in combat and pass back to them when they have nothing left in hand or field
