OMG! *He is a transformative and monumental figure. I admire him greatly and I see faint similarities to the current president of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele; the place were I was born in and lived up until the age of six before emigrating to the U.S. Accordingly, Bukele is now accused by the West of being a dictator because of how El Salvador got rid of the gang problem (MS-13 and others), how he deals with hypocrites in the media, how he has purged corrupt officials from government, and how his own party has swept the national, congressional, and city wide elections in 2024 with 87% of the vote. I really hope Bukele learns the lessons of Mr. Lee Kuan Yew. I rally hope he follows in his footsteps, irrespective of what leaders in Washington bark about or what others in the West (to include hypocrite NGOs) complain about while never having to live the LIFE of an ordinary citizen of El Salvador. .... I wish the best to the people of Singapore. Thank you for showing the world how to build a nation. Wat makes LKY a good leader? 1) precise, firm decisions...never sway away from foreign adversaries.... 2) like a good conductor of an orchestra, clear, firm n precise....he even walked the ground to check n inspect the works... he treated Sg as his HOME.... 3) bcos of his great leadership, majority of Singaporeans supported him, 4)never claim success as his own, but humbly recognised tat it's everybody's efforts tat make today's Sg successful stories....he even humbly shared tat at times it was his wife insightful advices, tat helped him.... 5) at times when wrong decisions were made, he admitted on public TV.... A man to honour n salutes to u, sir....hope we can have another LKY...😢.

While I believe that he's a very good leader, I have doubts about whether that type of governance scales well. What I mean is - Singapore is a small country. Is it even possible for large countries to not be riddled with problems? US has so many issues. China is a basket case. Japan looks good on the surface but has so many deep rooted cultural and social issues because their homogeneity is a double edged sword. The other big nations like Indonesia and India are also rife with issues. I also live in a very small country and I love all the benefits this brings. Once you get into the hundreds of millions, it's really unmanageable.
