@@vietcongbuondanbannuocphan1791 you know whats funny? These builders executives have to put their home addresses when they file their LLC paperwork at the courthouse. Its all gonna be funny when we let 000s of pissed homeowners, let's see how many of them have kids or kids friends who teach these executives a lesson IN THEIR OWN HOMES now this is going to be funny. The idiots can lie & hide but they can watch their own terrified kids as their roof tiles are smashed right before a rainstorm & flood their bedrooms & their stuff. I would just point & laugh as DR Hortons & KB Homes executives watch their terrified kids as it all comes home on them.

This guy is fantastic. He speaks truth to power and really just seems to remind me of the days before the government was entirely corrupt. These problems are caused by regulatory capture. You ever wonder why companies donate so much money to politicians? This is the reason. Buying a local election is cheap compared to, ya know, following rules and regulations and delivering a quality product. 10k to bribe a local authority compared to millions on the back-end. We need more Americans like Cy.

Saw a contractor leave trusses out on wet ground in the rain for a couple weeks, then in hot summer sun. They warped. Hammered them sort of in place with people pushing them to try to straighten them out. They also used a Ditch Witch to lay water & electrical lines in the same trench. Two winters later, that water line, in the too-shallow trench froze, broke, shorted out the power. Contractor was sued, but declared bankruptcy and continued to work for the builder with their "new" company. This was Appalachia.

Sheeeesh. Worth watching these inspections. I worked construction, back in the 80's. If an any inspector found safety issues the contractor I worked for would have us fix them after firing the person that let it go. It amazes me how shoddy new home builds are here in AZ. Our house was built in 84. I have yet to find any construction problems with our house. It seems we made the correct decision to buy a used house when we moved here.

What gets me are the people that say you don't want someone as detailed as he is. It's like I can choose to ignore something if I want, but if I don't know about it I don't get that choice. Plus if the inspector is either not catching something or choosing to ignore it, what else is slipping past them. There is a reason he has as much work as he does. True master of his profession.

We bought a large builders house a few years ago. Before the boom. There were handfuls of issues with ours, and the neighbor had rafters that were rotted through. I couldn’t believe someone installed the lumber in the neighbors house I was looking at. I’m certain, as production has increased, quality has only dropped. These superintendents are over tasked, and need to QA you are providing. I can believe their distaste of you, but they should be working with you, and thankful. The city or county building inspectors are to blame also. They don't hold these big corporations accountable or follow up. I had some major electrical work done on my property last year. Inspector showed up once at the beginning.........that was it. We had open panels and trenches for him to inspect for a final, this went on for a month until I went down to the office to get this guy only to find out he signed off on everything the same day he showed up. He left all the details to PG&E and the electrician I hired.

The allegations only made him MORE credible (he was reprimanded for a satire piece in which a house blew up).... But yeah, this guy is pointing out horrible flaws in new home building, and instead of fixing the problems the home builders try and bury this guy... Strike one up for the "little guy"....

Hey Just found your Channel a few days ago. Really interesting and i like your presentation style. It's nice and relaxed, unlike the people that get confronted with your work I guess. What I also find fascinating is the difference in perceived value. Pls don't understand this as chauvinistic bashing, just my observation. To me it is quite interesting that a million dollar house could be sold without a cellar (basement), build from wood, no "real" roof shingles, flimsy windows with no insulation, flimsy washroom ware (sinks and stuff) and so on. Here in Germany you can get a house of 2-3000sqf with a basement, either of brickwork or concrete, real sturdy windows and roof tiles and so on and itl cost you max half a million. We have company's building wooden homes here too (they are called instant homes ;) ), but the price is 30-50% lower. So to my mind the lower price and speed are the two advantages in a wooden house in our market here. Do you have an opinion on why US Americans prefer wooden houses with no basement? I'd like to learn and better understand.
