For the razor you should probably try to make a handle for it just so you don't cut your hand by accident cuz you know shit happens. Also, this is just my theory, but I think maybe the reason so many babies died is cuz perhaps just like allot of critters maybe they need there mommy. So maybe the next sac you can get the mommy with them like you did his time. This batch may have a better chance cuz she is with them to watch & care for them.

Animals like spiders and cats literally have so many spawn because not all of them will live so don't beat yourself up because nature takes it's course. You're doing your best.
@taoutdoors81103 жыл бұрын
Yep! Just like garter snakes and lots of colubridae classification. They breed for quantity, not quality, which is why some colubridae and quantity focused animals babies fail to thrive or can/have dropped dead literally for no reason (or a hidden reason) out of no where!
@taoutdoors81103 жыл бұрын
Alligators, most fish, and most amphibians are also prime examples of this quantity over quality phenomenon!

@christhunborg75832 жыл бұрын
@@Shante_Llace I use a 32oz deli cup and lid upside down. Small pins holes all over. Hot glue sphagnum moss in different spots inside. Use moss and light misting for water. Move mother after mating to this and once the slings emerge you can move her out and leave the Littles in the container.

Could you just stick the entire enclosure into a bigger, escape proof bin of sorts? That way they won't get disrupted until feeding/watering and any escapees can be put back into the main enclosure if they're found chilling outside in the bigger bin? (or make the bigger bin that the enclosure is sitting in an extension of it, and they'll just have more room for activities & less likely to cannibalize but, still be together?) Idk, lol, just a thought that sounds less complicated than moving the nest. Edit: also, f*ck what other people think. If they just want to be rude instead of helpful then they suck and have nothing to offer.

Not gonna brag and claim I knew _what_ was different, lol, but when you cut between the two devices, I definitely prefer the Canon's range of colour tone. Better sound to my opera-singing ears, too. 😊 For what it's worth, you seem to be doing a great job with the slings! I just sold over 170 baby jumpers and what I did was separated each one right after the second molt (usually when they leave the sac) and due to that I have had only a 15% mortality rate. It’s a lot of work feeding each little one in their enclosure (I drop in like 3 fruit flies), but if you want a higher survival rate it may be something you want to look into.

You could line that bottom vent with painting tape on the inside and do the same with the crack of the door. Saran wrap the bottom side of the mesh, taping it on with painters tape. This is what I did for my assassin bug colony as well as for my mantids. If you're worried about the spiders sticking to the tape that covers the crack, you can tape tape to the inside of the tape for portion that will be in contact with the spoods.
