I've been using the GRS and I'm loving it. Have you tried the Taccom recoil system? Curious to see how their setup compares

I bought the Taccom 3 stage air recoil system and stuck it in one of my AR's. I didn't tell my daughter and handed it to her. After 2 shots, she handed it back. It might not have as much muzzle bounce for competition, but felt recoil was 3x the gentle recoil system. The Taccom setup lives in a drawer now.

Screwing a comp on will make a big difference.

I am a competitive shooter PCC IDPA. What system would you recommend? I am currently running a KynSHOT 5015HD with a 5.56 carbine spring. I use 160 gr 9mm bullets at a 135PF. Gun shoot fairly soft. MY 45ACP AR shoots as soft as a MP5 using the same spring and buffer.

Does the K-Spec GRS variant have as much dot bounce as the hydraulic GRS?
@Blowback92 ай бұрын
I didn't compare them, but I'd expect so. Same mass moving in the tube.

Wilson combat has a 9 mm recoil system that uses 1911 springs. Have you heard about that or know anything? It would be pretty cool to see a detailed video on that type of setup. The concept of using 1911 springs sounds pretty interesting
@Blowback92 ай бұрын
In my experience, and for others as well, a lighter spring reduces felt recoil while heavier springs make the felt recoil experience worse by slamming the bolt closed much harder than necessary. AR9's use a 12# 5.56 carbine spring. I'm skeptical that their 15, 17, or 20# springs will improve the recoil experience, BUT I'm open to trying it. Let me see what I can do about getting one.

How do you think the k spec A5H4 would work with an 8 inch cmmg rdb kit? That's what I want to build.
@Blowback92 ай бұрын
Not sure. CMMG is mechanically delayed, not simple blowback. It's a completely different operating system, so it's not my field of expertise. Sorry!

Does Kynshot make a buffer that fits flat wire springs? Mine does not.

I have a Wilson Combat flat carbine spring. It wasn't supposed to fit, but it does.
@Blowback92 ай бұрын
There are several flatwire springs that fit the Kynshot buffers. The SI is a poor fit, and some folks have problems with the new Wilson springs. Here's all my fit testing (15 different flat springs): blowback9.wordpress.com/2023/03/03/flat-wire-spring-comparison/ Top 4 in the charts would be my choice.
