About 20 years ago, I was standing in the registration line at CAAS. I saw a crowd gathered in the corner and I heard something like I had never heard being played. I got out of line and stood next to Dave Edmunds who was smiling and bobbing his head. I asked someone who the guitar player was and they said, "Tommy Emmanuel from Australia." Changed my life. Thanks for posting this great video.

What happened to Chet Atkins? The Godfather of the guitar. The man who brought the guitar into the mainstream. You ask any good guitarist who influenced them the most and they will all say Chet.

Katelyn, when you took the lead, I was spellbound for a few seconds ... it was like you were taking the song into unexplored territory. You are a true stylist, and at such a young age. I hope I'm still around when you are in your 40s and 50s.

Hi Matleena, Thanks for the kind words! I have had numerous teachers over the years, though none of them taught the Chet Atkins-style of playing. I learned a lot of the Chet Atkins and Tommy Emmanuel songs and techniques on KZbin! Focus on the spirit and groove of the song, and you'll be playing great in no time. :)
