Willona (Ja'net DuBois) is out of town when Penny (Janet Jackson) comes down with a bad cold and Florida (Esther Rolle) has to take her to the doctor.

Florida takes Penny to the clinic, but doctors are scarce, and the remaining doctor has plans to close the practice.

I notice that J.J. never gets sick when the rest of the family does. He also didn’t get sick when Florida cooked the bad pot roast from that grocery store with the crooked manager. All of them - even Wilona got sick, but the roast didn’t affect J.J.
