Thanks for having Sinc over! Canadian legend and one of our best players on the FC Gold Pride back in the day. Glad she knew it was time to retire rather than running herself down. That jersey story though! 🤣

This is only the second year I've been following US football, so I know more about her from Wikipedia than the games watched. But from what I have seen, she still brings it every game. She is an absolute warrior on the pitch. I am amazed that she has had a 25 year career, and put up totally untouchable numbers, especially for Canada. And yet with this interview, she was just so down to earth, almost understated, about her achievements. There have been two huge retirements recently from players who were absolute icons both on and off the pitch. But Christine for me is the ultimate role model for how to compete in the women's game. If players could have even half of her longevity, that would be a huge achievement. I don't think we will ever see another 25 year plus career, not even close. As she plays for a Commonwealth country, she is entitled to be honoured. A few of the England Lionesses were awarded after the Euro win, rightly so. But I honestly think that she deserves to be referred to as Dame Christine Sinclair. She has absolutely earned it as far as I'm concerned!

That's a lovely thought but Canadians don't accept those kinds of awards. Even our Prime Ministers aren't knighted and haven't been for 100 years or so. There was a bit of a debate about it relatively recently when Conrad Black, who had dual Canadian/UK citizenship, was knighted, and he ended up having to renounce his Canadian citizenship. It's an equality/democracy thing.
@wendysnelgrove58703 ай бұрын
I still have a visceral reaction when anyone brings up the 2012 semi-finals. I supported our girls before that, but after that game, I think the whole country really rallied around them. I'd say they are the national team with the 3rd most support (after the men's and women's hockey teams ) which is saying a lot. When they won gold in Tokyo I was overjoyed, because I felt like they *deserved* that win so much.

Yes, I hope Sanchez will be brought up to the National team. I was hugely dismayed at her not being selected for the WWC. If Lavelle isn't able to play, who else plays similarly? Sanchez! She's sneaky and clever. I hope it happens.

personally i am more interested in what Emma's thoughts were on the Courage's defensive line. i am pretty confident that sanchez has won her callup by now, but what kurts/berkely/williams do for us is also important while going unnoticed. kurtz was cutting out and blocking so many attempts from chicago's world class front line, berkely has been improving so fast under her tutelage while being one of the best CBs in the league at carrying the ball into midfield and looking for that pass into the attacking third like she did with wingate for kerolin's goal, and williams has provided us excellent service down the right in a position that is somewhat fielded by Rodman as the more attacking right sided threat. they all 3 provide us very good cover and when our opponent in these next two friendlies is Iceland i think that is a good opportunity to try out new players.

Hello Sam and Becky. What email system are you using that you do not schedule meetings? Also do US kids not learn to play "three and in" when small, where you learn to dribble and to get round the keeper, as well as when to shoot to beat them? You did learn eloquence though.

Unbeaten not Undefeated, undefeated implies they won every game which they have not a draw is not a win and Orlando has draws this they are NOT and canNOT go undefeated.
@cole77263 ай бұрын
Very incorrect. The definition of undefeated is quite literally "not defeated." Idk where you are getting that it implies you have won every game - it doesn't. If you have not lost, you are undefeated...
