@OliverHeikkinen3 жыл бұрын
@@aymanrehmouni3363 yeah and the dynamics of her runs are crazy
@benw38643 жыл бұрын
You're 100% right. Runs aren't all about agility and many of the singers this channel highly rates all the time are proof of that. Regardless, Mariah has better musicality and dynamics in her runs along with her more seamless transitions. Mariah literally transitions effortlessly through all modes of her range in a run. The one quality the other two have over her is that they naturally have weightier voices. Whitney and Celine spinto/full lyric sopranos while Mariah has a lighter voice. Not to mention Celine and Whitney's tessitura is arguably higher than Mariah's. When someone has a higher and weightier voice their belted runs will sound more dramatic, but someone naturally having this quality doesn't make them better or worse at runs, it's simply a trick that their vocal quality plays on the listener. Whitney and Celine's strengths that make them amazing vocalists lie in different areas, but Mariah definitely has and will always eat up their runs.
@Sloppyjoey13 жыл бұрын
@@benw3864 I agree almost entirely. My only contention is that Mariah’s runs are not that transitional between registers. Mariah’s runs are almost always in her middle voice. Whitney’s Headvoice runs absolutely dwarf Mariah’s in my view, while technically not as “fast” her tone resonance absolutely drown out Mariah’s head voice. On top of that she can clearly belt a run better. Celine too, she can belt Mariah under the table and incorporate that into runs. Mariah’s runs are world class for her note intervals, agility and musicality. But I feel that people exaggerate her versatility with them. Mariah is KNOWN to rarely utilize headvoice and sing almost exclusively in middle voice or upper chest. The 3 are equals in this area if we account for belted runs essentially being the hardest runs of all. 9:17 is harder than essentially any 25 note middle voice run Mariah can do imo
@liveinlove49453 жыл бұрын
@@Sloppyjoey1 If we account for belted runs & head voice (their specialties) then we might as well add hers the whistle register. Even though it's very hard to control, she's unbelievably agile up there. Those octave jumps she does are also a part of her agility. Whitney and Celine are impressive in this area however Mariah takes it. If Whitney and Celine are not on Tori Kelly and Jazmine Sullivan's level when it comes to vocal agility then they sure aren't on Mariah's level.
