What a touching story. Poor Mrs Kyndley, she really was a loving character in the show. She's one of the reasons Thomas's branch line is exciting to visit. It was lovely for the engines to do nice, kind things for her 🙂.

R. I. P. Mrs. Kyndley, 100, of Hackenbeck, Sodor, all her life, was born 24 December 1923 and died peacefully 24 August 2024. She was a centenarian! What a good long full life, Mrs. Kyndley.

This story makes me think of my own grandparents when they had hospice care, Richard Jordan really wrote this story well about Mrs.Kyndley!

It’s a somber thing. This is how my grandmother went several months ago. But unfortunately life goes on. Tearful but necessary story to tell.

This adaptation story is so goddamn sweet and beautiful! I feel so heartbroken. 😭 Season 25 could have made this stories better than their other stories. And the branchline engine were so in good character. 💯/ 💯♥️ It’s fucking good, man! Nice job!

It’s a shame Thomas never tackled serious issues such as death unlike many kids shows. Several handled this topic well and those of us who’ve seen it knew how to approach it here.

Thomas & the Magic Railroad did mention Tasha's death by Lily, which was the only time it was ever done (not counting Toad & the Whale or Cautious Connor).

Engines being scrapped is a huge plot point of the series, what are you talking about Bro forgot Gordon mourning his brothers?

I think this might be one of Richard Jordan’s more underrated stories honestly. It’s a very bittersweet, but well put together story, with a heartfelt message about the cycle of life. And I feel like we don’t see these types of stories enough. You did a wonderful job with this remake. Really loved how you stuck closely to your original adaptation of this, while still making it feel fresh. Superb work all around on your part. I’m not very good when talking and expressing myself and my emotions like this, but my grandma actually just recently passed away nearly three months ago now from stage 3 lung cancer. And I remember a couple days after her passing, I saw the original adaptation you made of this on my homepage. I resonated with this story a lot after rewatching it, because of how much it reminded me of her and how she was always around for me throughout my childhood, as well as how things went down when her health started rapidly declining and I was the one who was helping and taking care of her 24/7. It was really painful to think about everything regarding her when seeing this story again. But it also kinda provided me with a sense of comfort and a little bit ease of mind too. Cause even though she’s gone now, I know that she‘s no longer suffering and is finally at peace. As much as I miss her and wish she was still here- especially now, with how much more of a struggle life has become currently, due in part to her untimely passing- I’m thankful that she was in my life for as long as she was. Her getting to see me graduate and turn 18… I’ll always have memories like that of her to look back on. And all the things she did for me while growing up. One of her plants she got from a friend 11 years ago sometime after her husband passed is actually starting to grow another new sapling now too. The fourth generation of it, if you wanna call it that. (I believe it’s called a sapling, anyway. I’m not a plant person, so correct me if I’m wrong.) That first one was very special to her and she would do everything possible to keep it alive. It reminds me quite a bit of the opening and ending scenes here with Mrs. Kyndley’s flowers. Even though that first plant is dead now unfortunately, its beauty still lives on through its predecessors. And honestly, I find some peace in knowing I can carry on my grandma’s legacy similarly to that. And how she’ll never truly be gone forever.

This really makes me think of my mother. Recently a few weeks ago she had to go to a hospital to get surgery done to her heart. She's doing better now, and I know she's a tough old bird, but she's at that age where anything can happen to her now. When the day comes when she finally passes on from this world, I don't know what I'll do...

Just finished the video, and... Dang, man. This was a sad but nice story, and a good sendoff to Mrs. Kyndley, an old friend of the Ffarquhar Branch Line's engines. Also, I thought the end credits were just going to have no music the entire way through... but then the ending music from "Henry's Forest" started playing, and while I didn't cry, it still got me right in the feels. 😢

wow … good story Tho just had a thought . Can the engines die . Like Edward or toby … there rather old ain’t they ? Or is a museum like NRM a retirement home for engines or something ?
@joshuaharvey5020
@joshuaharvey5020 4 ай бұрын
engines cant die even if they are old but they can chose that if they want if so they ask first and if it can then they can have blackwater to get poured into their water tanks or tenders. they can also get asked if the want to be retied or run a small railtour around their home or to or go to NRM or museums so they can tell stories about their adventures from their early days.
