Nah, #BoycottBlackOps6 for real. This shit was predatory and the most anti-consumer act I've ever seen Activision commit. They put MWR on SALE on Steam the same week everyone was getting ready to play H2M, they incentivized the sale because they knew they could make a quick buck on people who wanted the H2M team's product. Then at the last moment, sent a C&D to shut down the mod. That timing is NOT a coincidence, they ended the sale the same day the team announced the mod was shutdown. MWR literally became the #3 selling item on Steam. They preyed on the most loyal of their own fanbase, the ones who had been around since 2009. The ones who just wanted to RELIVE what you gave us, Activision. I was excited to play Black Ops 6, I was excited to play this. Now I will play neither, and I hope you won't either Scope. I cannot be complicit and support a company that is this anti-consumer, and I cannot consume content in its name. You do not need Activision- Activision needs content creators. My first CoD game i played was a mod called AlterIW for the original Modern Warfare. AlterIW was the reason i got into CoD in the first place and leading me to my first purchase which was BO2, Then i bought most CoD games which came out after that MW3, BO3, MW2019 and Cold War. Without AlterIW i would've never gotten into CoD in the first place let alone purchase it. Activision dont realise that these free mods actually attract a lot of people who would later buy the actual game like i did. Any dev making a game like this, needs to keep it lowkey, and they need to just release it. Where H2M went wrong was hyping up the release coming out on the 16th. I’ve still been playing today and the game feels so good. It feels incredible. The biggest thing other devs need to gain from this, is just drop the game when it’s finished. Sure they can send a cease and desist, that just means they have to stop working on the game. If the game has already dropped, the servers can still be active, the devs just can’t release updates for the games after the cease and desist. They have to stop all work on the game. But, the servers can still be up and someone like alterware can come in and do server protections to stop RCE’s and such from infecting the game.

I'm honestly a bit glad it's gone this way rather than people only getting a day or two and hundreds if not thousands of people going past their 2 hour threshold and being stuck with MWR. I nearly caved in myself to buying but thought it won't last a few weeks but given how much I've struggled to hit a clip on the og mw2 on the 360 lol I thought this could be golden and it may only be possible for a limited time
