Saban was 1-4 against 11 win LSU teams. * Shula faced 2 of 4 TN teams that won 10 games. Saban was 1-1 against 10 win TN teams. * Shula faced 3 of 4 AU teams that won 9 games. Saban never beat a 9 win AU team. If you have a clue about math, apply the numbers to all 17 years and Saban might have played for 1 NC.

It was great for me to watch all the epic moments you created for us all. You earned all the accolades you got, and the retirement you have entered into. As a die hard Buckeye fan I didn't know how sad I would be over Coach Saban retiring. The GOAT college coach and it's not even close. I'll always have all the respect in the world for what you accomplished, even though you kicked our butts in the 2020 NCG 😢😂. I enjoyed from afar seeing stories of Saban bringing his players out tubing on the lake and having karaoke parties at his house. Just always seemed like such a genuine good dude and it made me realize why all those 5 star players chose Bama to begin with. So cheers Nick to the best career any of us have ever witnessed, and no matter our allegiances we all wish you and Ms. Terry the absolute best in retirement. You earned it.

I'm a Michigan fan but I absolutley love what Saban did at Bama. He built one of if not the most dominant dynasties in cfb history. He was so dominant that it was a huge deal when Bama lost a game. We will all miss you coach

I remember.. I was there for the year BEFORE Saban's first season.. and my dad told me.. *Made me look at him*... "Give Saban a YEAR... and he'll win us championships".... he wasn't lying.. Texas fan here. Nick Saban truly is the GOAT. He can’t be replaced. What he’s done for Alabama was create the standard by which all other college teams wanted to reach. It’s sad to see him go. 0-8 lifetime against 9 or more win AU teams. And that means NEVER a national championship that went through a good AU team. Bowden beat both 9 or more win Miami and FL teams in his 2 NCs. Validation matters. LOL. In the 5 seasons at AL where Saban did not beat an eventual 9 win AU team, 3 of those seasons Saban could have stopped AU from putting themselves in position to play for a NC. Saban failed all three times. It took another team stopping AU. 2010, 2013, 2017. I mean as a motivator, he couldn't get his players to respond to, "Do you want AU to win a NC?"

As a Tennessee I loved playing Alabama, but I hated that Tennessee and Alabama were considered rivals. One of the reasons why I never hated Alabama was because of Coach Saben. College football won't be the same without you. But thank you coach Saben this was the end of an era for me but also a new time for you, so Goodbye coach Saben I'll miss you. I will never forget the day Coach came to Tuscaloosa. The news channels were covering the President Ford funeral while it was in Grand Rapids, MI. Then "we interrupt this program..." it was for a news conference with Coach Saban and Mal Moore as Saban was the new Alabama Crimson Tide coach. I know you had a vision, and Miss Terry had a vision for Bama. Thank you so much for a great run. Coach Saban, you are the GOAT! So happy for your retirement. You look good on GameDay. I had thought earlier this season, that it should be relished, we can't guarantee that we would have such a Coach forever. Nevertheless I thought 4 or so more years, based on how things were going and the strength shown. When that first 6-6 regular season happened and honestly the team looked worse than Franchione's first year, I thought maybe his assistants were part of the keys to success. But I had seen MI St teams. And I still remember the shellacking of the Tide in Tuscaloosa by Rohan Davy(a mobile kid) so I also knew how formidable and devastating a team could be developed. AL was not even on the field that day in relative terms. Year 2, it was clear that this was going to leave all fans insecurities in the dust. Being an AL fan since 2008 was like that old reliable anything in life, it just worked. The teams played with great determination and skill. The coaching on display(watching a feed vs UGA in 2008 now that is clear). I wish you well, and please teach Wommack all about the 3-4-4 base, I am not excited about the 4-5-2. You are already missed, by those that have less value to your actual life. Hug some babies and grandbabies.
