This scene is just as good as I remember it. Hope they show the scene at the end on the beach where Michael is at a crossroads trying to decide what to do now, before jogging back to KITT with the music playing and driving off. Glad we got this episode, even though it technically wasn't the show finale, it serves as one.

I like those old dark, wood paneled restaurants with the brass fixtures. Low ceilings so the only way to light the scene fast and cheap is with a few lights blasting directly at the actors creating ugly shadows on the walls. Gotta love 80s TV.

Except that in this episode Michael didn't leave after all. He jumps back into KITT, has his revenge and goes back the Foundation. The conclusion is the same as in the first episode of Knight Rider.

Is not. In Scent of Roses Michael never leaves the Foundation. Just like in episode 1 he has his revenge and goes back to Foundation, only this time he's not a new hire who so far hated the car, but call the Foundation his family.

@@piotrmalewski8178 Think he meant it as from what’s on tv and as chronology order in the TOS scent of roses (1986) is the last mission that was on tv because we know Michael left the foundation sometime after 89 (I’d say 1990 because knight rider 2000 said Michael left in 1990 however in TKR i believe it says Michael left flag in 1994)

@@UnknownRaiderGuy Well, other entries are so bad I'd rather ignore them. Knight Rider 2000 was arguably the best of the sequels but still so much against original idea of Knight Rider. The whole script was a huge compromise. From the start, the vibe is that NBC wanted to have something to cash on popularity of Robocop, with set in the future and creepy scenes, original KITT was supposed to return but Pontiac protested, and even Hasselhoff didn't like the film, including the red car. I think best logical conclusion would be that Michael and KITT retire from 1st line somewhere between 2000-2010, because of Michael's aging and growing difficulties with servicing KITT by now retired engineers, and Michael replaces Devon, but because of addiction to action and KITT's formidability he occasionally does some minor frontline and comes to the the rescue when successors get in too much trouble.

This was kind of unbelievable. Michael never bothered to find Stevie when he assumed his new identity, and never bothered to keep her each time when they met again, yet suddenly decided to abandon his dream job and go after her? Well, even if she didn't die, he would have returned. People who do high adrenaline jobs, like rally drivers, have hard time quitting. Some even develop neurosis and somatizing depression which vanishes when they return.
