In the next videos, I prefer to let them eat without letting them know that the food is vegan! I think it will be more objective, since skepticism against vegan foods or 'feeling guilty if I don't rate the vegan version high enough' can influence how they rate it. Just a piece of my mind :)

Cool, I liked the reactions. A full range. I think that is more about how different people’s taste buds are, as well as what mouth feels they enjoy. I didn’t realize they knew the dish was vegan from the start. For a real taste test, they shouldn’t have known it was vegan. I think no matter how we try to be impartial, we have a prejudgement. I’d like to see it again with them just testing it for a critique and suggestions for improvement. They’ve been perfection their own lasagna recipes, and could give a tip that could be incorporated to make it better.

My two things that makes my lasagna trick meat eaters is marinating the "ground beef" in faux beef bouillon prior to cooking it and using Follow Your Heart brand vegan cheese. I am picky about texture, so I like my cheese gooey and my protein to be slightly overcooked for a more realistic texture. I love these videos! Turning skeptics into believers.

@grandma walrus everything dish is by taste with me. No real recipe... ever. 😩 I mix the cooked beyond sausage with the already cooked "beef." I use Ragu brand sauce with some faux beef bouillon, garlic powder, onion powder, and any other spices I feel it needs. I only use Follow Your Heart cheese or I make my own. Everything else doesn't hit the spot for me. Those are probably the only only steps that I do differently that others.

If anyone is ever in Rome when we can all travel again, I fully recommend trying WANI bakery an all vegan bakery 🤤 (WANI stands for We Are Not Ingredients)

Love your videos, one thing I miss due to allergies is scampi, with chips and mushy peas, if you could recreate that it would be amazing, I’ve seen vegans use palm of hearts for camalari, I wonder if that would work for scampi, I’m gluten free too, so it’s very tough finding good food, but I’m getting there :)

What this tells me is that it's theoretically possible to make a Vegan lasagna so close to the original that it would be virtually indistinguishable from the original. I bet there are Vegans in Italy working on it now.

"I like some of it, and some of it I don't"...just like with "normal" food! Not liking some vegan food doesn't mean vegan food is bad or mediocre! It just means people have different tastes!

Throughout the video I kept thinking about how rude the grey sweater lady is but honestly from all the Italians from Italy I have met (just ones I have met) are actually very critical and skeptical of their food. Like if it’s not right they will flat out say it’s not right. My mom took care of an elderly Italian patient for so many years and even she was quite critical of the pesto pasta I made her from scratch. She was quiet while eating the whole plate and once she finished it she said she loved it because she was able to finish it. Italians are very beautiful and hard working peoples hence I feel that’s why they are quite harsh critics of others also.

I am vegan and I am italian, I make my own vegan lasagna and I like it, yet it is not the real lasagna at all. Real lasagna is on a whole different level that vegan one cannot reach, as it always has this sweet taste. They are strict, but they're not lying
