Mexican food is extremely easy to veganize. Most traditional Mexican food (not TexMex) is pretty plant based to begin with so you sometimes need to be a little creative (like those "beef" soy curls or the tofu eggs). I actually had bean tostadas for lunch this week and they are so good.
@Noname-cu4dx
@Noname-cu4dx 2 жыл бұрын
@@j.munday7913 its the same in Ethiopia. Most dishes here are plant based. I think most dishes outside of the west include wide variety of plant based dishes, its just we don’t hear a lot about them esp in the usa.
@j.munday7913
@j.munday7913 2 жыл бұрын
@@Noname-cu4dx Exactly. I can only really speak about Mexican from experience, but it seems like everyone outside of Western culture has a whole plant-based cuisine. The US had that culture as well since it's a super old way of eating, but they really did try their best to scrub it in the name of "progress". Now people act like you're trying to poison them when you only eat plants.

Patongo seems very similar to (油条) you tiao/you char kway/dough fritter and (麻煎) ma jian/(花煎) hua jian/ (蝴蝶煎) hu die jian / butterfly fritter. These are usually sold in local vegetarian/vegan chinese stalls where I'm at.. can be commonly found in neighbourhoods' market/hawker centers. Over here, we also commonly have it with soy/soya milk, bith warm and cold. At times, some of us also have it with local kopi (milk coffee), or even milo.

Wow, that wasn't my experience at all, I think mainly because I speak a little bit of thai? there are many traditional vegetarian/vegan restaurants in thailand because some sects of thai buddhism are vegetarian/vegan and many buddhists give up meat and animal products for lent. Even with street food and local spots, it's really common for people to order their food adding or removing ingredients, all you need to know is how to ask. I guess it also depends on where in thailand though, but bangkok and chiang mai definitely have tons of great vegan spots
