I find you coaching really great and am enjoying the results and hopefully get a lesson booked soon, FYI just ordered some gloves from GX and forgot to use the code so emailed to let them I wasn’t worried about the discount next time but to let them know it was via your channel that I found out about them so they would know that the advertising was working. They have just emailed me back to say they have given me the discount on the order and they did not need to do that 👍👏. So I thought you might want to know that they are backing you up with great customer service. All the best Hutch 👍

Such insights, I’m unaware of anyone else talking about the head overtaking the handle to change angle of attack. The pivot of a driver at impact such a key ingredient at scratch….. keep this coming Stu. Two thumbs up 😂

Great analysis of the driver. The first point about how to best create a positive angle of attack is one I have not seen presented elsewhere. Love the point about moving the ball forward for speed and left to right ball flight too. The last point about pulling all the way with the 7 iron for shaft lean vs. letting the head swing past the handle (lever point) with the driver provides the reason why the driver swing can't and shouldn't feel like the 7 iron swing. All 3 points are very insightful and well presented! Yes, this is the best golf channel on KZbin!

Stuart. You have undoubtedly helped my golf swing but for the first time I’m confused. I introduced your strong grip but you then suggested a weaker grip for longer irons. Is this the same change to make for drivers, sand irons and fairway woods. Pleas help. Roger
@GoodGolfCoaching8 ай бұрын
Absolutely not... Only long irons "IF" you must and really struggle with ball flight, which is what I say in the video.

After I start puring my 7 iron with neutral path and face, and then I take my driver and if I hit it down with open face and 3.5 out to in, I now know this is my fault. Making a mental note. Thanks for another great video.

Another cracking video, Stu. Driver has been my nemesis and this video answers all of the questions in my mind, except one. Where to place the ball: Lead shoulder socket, armpit, heel, arch, big toe, or somewhere else? As you can see, the location of the ball has me baffled. I've tried all of these places and had some success with all, but nothing consistent. Probably because I am (but no longer, after watching this video) one of those players who leaned too much in an attempt to hit up and bowed my wrist. Cheers.

thanks for the videos, super interesting but your release is very different to the "catch the raindrop" style release that compresses the ball, it's an area I really struggle with so your thoughts here would be well received... thanks...

@GoodGolfCoaching well Stuart I've tested out with minimal tilt and yes it does work if anything I'm drawing ball more and I'd say more topspin on my drives = further run once I get my carry , I think there wad naturally just tiny bit of tilt naturally from standing there with ball forward and size of club and its shaft angle etc
@andrewhollick89778 ай бұрын
Thanks again Stuart, another stellar instructional video, expertly presented. Am I right in thinking, picking up on a comment you made, that "the longer the club the more you must let the head swing past the handle", as with the driver, then this to a slightly lesser degree ,applies to the fairway woods, as they are longer than our Irons?. In essence don't pull them as long as the irons.
@GoodGolfCoaching8 ай бұрын
Hi Andrew, my pleasure Sir. Yes, you are spot on with your understanding! Really good! Best wishes Stu

Suggestion for a video: do you have a good driver off the deck shot? Full swing specifically, not punching out. Learning that shot really helped me mentally bridge the gap between irons and teed up woods. I maybe use it once or twice a year, but it's always fun. When i am practicing and can hit a 3 wood off the deck well, I know I'm in good shape. When I hit driver off the deck well, I immediately go to the first tee. 😂
@GoodGolfCoaching8 ай бұрын
Sure, I can hit a driver off the deck, but for the masses its a vastly useless shot. Deep driver heads, low energy on that part of the face, way more use in a compressed five wood shot or clipped three wood... Best wishes Stu

Great stuff. Questions: what spine tilt should you have at address? What about shoulder tilt during the swing? And finally if you already draw the ball which is the correct ball position to avoid hooks. Thanks
@GoodGolfCoaching8 ай бұрын
Spine tilt is dictated by ball position; shoulder tilt is dictated by foot pressure. To avoid hooks, ball as far back until it slices! Hope that helps. Best wishes Stu 😊

Its very difficult for slicers or open stance or down the line hitters to release the club in any way other than at target , ive tried for years and years . I now set up with shoulders parallel but grip the shaft or pick the club up with the head forward and handle centre so that the release point when i waggle haas the face pointing more left ( to my eye ) which encourages me to address the ball from ( to my eye) a more closed position , from there the club path at release is just slightly out to neutral and i can hit just my side of the ball naturally , i have to stay on my heels ( which is another story/question) or feel like through takeaway to stop myself swaying off and around back . Despite drawing irons and hybrid ive never drawn a driver , hooked yes , pulled oh yes , but never drawn . Straight or straight to fade , and if i let the fade live in my shot it becomes a slice . The problem i have is i know im leaving power on the tee box and not getting it all out there . As an aside or maybe a cause/ cure . The reason i get on my heels is because ( i think) i tend to drop my lead leg then drop my trail leg to pivot rather than push my trail back and then push back lead leg - hence the sway when im on my toes .

Cheers Stu, how are ya my friend, can I ask ya 2 quick questions, where is ball position for my 3 wood on the deck and on a tee, 2nd, how should my club shaft be at address, should there be a little shaft lean or should it be straight behind the ball like a driver, thank you much Stu, hope all is well and be safe.👊

I'd love to see a video about flipping. I close the face, no matter what I do and what I try, I can't control the face. I can keep them open to the maximum when I'm holding them and tilting my shoulders, standing up, and all that other crap. But to train a good movement, I don't have the clubface because then I'm hitting extreme hooks. I am really frustrated because i train a lot but have no plan what to do. Come from an in to out massive push draw with flipping and early extension.
@GoodGolfCoaching8 ай бұрын
I discussed flipping in the video? If you fix the face being too closed to the path, you’ll fix your flip. Could be - strong grip or weak grip, start there first. Best wishes Stu 😊
