This is a very unique and COMMON SENSE approach to the golf swing. The Biline to this video is "Simply Genius," and it is all that and more!! True genius, by definition, is simplicity of thought. Simply conceived and carried out. Rather than focusing on the left arm as most instructors do, this video emphasizes focusing on the right arm in the takeaway. This creates a double whammy of the chest following, the back turning, with the right hand down. From there, simply rotate the right hand toward the sky. I can't find a thing wrong with this approach. Because there isnt!! GREAT 👍 VIDEO.

@@harryshawgolfit has been a literal game changer for me. I had to comment because I said the same thing you did. My coach had the same feelings on the takeaway. He showed me Lydia Ko’s takeaway as a reference point and we all know how well she’s done recently. It’s been about two weeks since I made this change. It’s going to take some work because I can feel the old swing trying to sneak its way back in lol. What I love is that it keeps my club path on plane on the backswing. My other change my coach was to get me to pivot more at my hips at setup because I told him my balance was off and I was falling back after impact. I will definitely let you know about my progress. Love the videos.

@rdoan76 using Lydia Ko as a checkpoint for the takeaway or any pro in fact is a great way to compare where you need to be. The old swing will always want to creep in from you subconsciously doing it, so you have to consciously think about the changes/ new feels until it becomes more natural, that takes time, practice and perseverance. Nice easy to follow instruction, a good part 2 would be to focus on what you wanna see from the waist down in the backswing to the followthrough. Just getting back to golf after a 15 year layoff, I played in high school and college back in the 80's with all feel and zero swing thoughts, and like all of us in 2024 there's a dozen swing thoughts in my head at address now, I topped two 3 woods from the deck last round , ggrr. This makes perfect sense because now that you are squaring the club properly your over the top outside in swing is now causing a pull hook. Yes this will do as long as you force the chest (the centre point being the sternum) to face your target. if at all you hang back and the chest faces to the right of target that'll discourage the hips to initiate properly.

You confused me so I had to watch the video twice before I understood what you were saying about a bad take away. You spent the first three minutes having me thing one need to point the logo on the left hand glove to point away from you. This is exactly the opposite of what you were saying. I widsh from the outset you had repeated that doing so was bad. I think you only said that once and had me wondering what you were talking about Of course you are spot on and this is a great lesson but very hard to follow. I wish it were said more simply and succinctly right off the start Too much toe wasted and was a distraction from the very valid point you were making. Do not engage wrists so logo faces away from you to start the takeaway is the point. Do not know why three minutes was spent on that point alone. It got to the point I had no idea what you were going on about. Just trying to be helpful by way of feed back because this otherwise was a very helpful video.
