A friend of mine who has been an automotive machinist for a long time was fond of collecting historical shop manuals. He said the the shop manual for the Model T told people to tighten the journal bolts and head bolts "as tight as you can." By the time the Model A came out, they had broken off enough of these bolts to change this to recommend that you tighten them "as tight as a normally strong man can with an 8 inch wrench." This advice remained more or less unchanged until torque specs were published in the mid 1950s.

It makes no difference. It's a downward load on the hitch, and you get a bending moment whether that downward load is applied by a bike rack or a trailer. There may be some difference with dynamic loads as that bike rack is fixed whilst the trailer hitch will move, but it still doesn't sound right.
@blurglide

That vertical load capacity is ridiculously low. It's normally recommended to have between 5% and 15% of the load weight on the hitch, which with 10,000 pound loading capacity would be between 500 and 1,500 pound. Many would think even 5% is low. Also, the dynamics of towing means that the load will fluctuate a lot as you drive along.

By giving a Russian, a cyber truck would be the same thing as giving Hitler a cyber truck. So if he did that people recognize what he did.

Ford applied for multiple patents to remotely screw with owners so I 100% believe Tesla's can be bricked given they're *so* software driven. Probably any vehicle with OTA upgrades are vulnerable to that... which is worrisome. Corps already want you to license rather than own their products, but it's a whole different barrel of monkeys when we're talking about 100K+ vehicles with a capricious CEO. Oh, look... let's push an OTA update to turn off that very interesting fly-by-steering... Or just make it steer into a wall at 75 mph. It's like the Bourne movies were a documentary...
