I have the transitions extractive polarized and there's absolutely no going back to regular lenses. Optimal protection while driving. I work in a hot bright warehouse and they handle the glare well and produce a better visual result that's pretty amazing. Great technology.

i have XTRACtive Polarized, and while they do get a Polarized filter when they turn dark, it is probably the weakest polarization i've ever witnessed. they also get no where near to the "up to 85% dark" advertised, they get more like 60% at 33c and Polarization is only at around 30-40% efficiency at 33c (91.4f) clear sky sunny day (i tested mines today and compared them to my 75% tinted polarized sunglasses side by side just out of curiosity). however the only really big benefit that they have is that they are part of the XTRActive line of Transitions, and compared to the standard XTRActives the Polarized version actually gets even darker in a car or even if you are sitting next to a window inside your house or office which is actually really cool Essilor are marketing the XTRActive Polarized lenses as lenses that "get even darker in hot climates" but compared even to generic Photochromic lenses (for example i compared my XTRActive Polarized lenses to my older Zenni blokz Photochromics) at 33c clear sky sunny day (91.4f) sitting essentially one next to another they both get essentially almost exactly the same tint level (around 60%), just that the XTRActive Polarized lenses activate significantly slower than the generic Photochromics (the generic Blokz Photochromics finished their clear to dark transition in about 20-30 seconds, the XTRActive Polarized took nearly double that time) and the XTRActive Polarized lenses also take twice as long to clear up (generic Blokz Photochromics usually fully clear up in around 3 minutes, the XTRActive Polarized took almost 7 minutes to fully clear up). now idk about you but 33c is a pretty warm sunny condition now i'm not sure if Zenni's Blokz Photochromic lenses have been recently (past 4 months) and they silently significantly upgraded their generic Blokz Photocrhomics to the same levels of Transitions GEN8 (in darkness and reaction time), or if my expectations out of Essilor's XTRActive Polarized were set way too high from all of Essilor's marketing BS but in my eyes and from my comparisons (and side by side tests), Essilor pulled a lot of BS marketing with the XTRActive Polarized lenses, in reality the only real benefit they have over the generic photochromic is that they can activate inside a car or inside a house/office if you're next to a window with light coming through. other than that the nearly 200$ XTRActive Polarized lenses are just very overpriced and underperforming against the generic 40$ Zenni Blokz Photochromic lenses.

I have the Essilor Transitions, XtraActive, XtrActive with Mirrors Style, and non-Transitions. All are Essilor Physio 3.0 Fit. What are some of the main differences of Comfort vs. Physio 3.0 Fit vs X Series? Any key advantages between the 3 types of lenses?

Any update on when the XTRActive Polarized will come in additional colours? I'm currently using these lenses in their only colour gray. Previously I was using the non polarized XTRActive in green and in brown.

Dr. Before my recent Cataract surgery I mentioned to my Doctor that I was concerned about pain during the operation because during dental work over the years ..I have experienced bad pain on occasion because the freezing does not take properly. And that I have fibromyalgia. He told me the medication they use to freeze is sufficient…so I trusted him. *Im Not sure if this matters but..Before the first operation the nurse was putting in lots of drops…and mentioned she was not sure why the doctor was still using drops as the other surgeons used a gel now. *And she offered me a medication to relax me and help me not remember the operation, but I declined as I was not very nervous. During the first operation I called out…Because I felt a severe sharp pain twice. They added more freezing and then continued the operation, Thankfully it went ok….And I was extremely happy to be able to see again. For the second operation I decided to take there medication, because I was now a bit scared and worried about feeling that sharp pain again. *Unfortunately it did not help…as what happened was not just bad it was horrific and I still remember it all. All was going well at first, but suddenly I yelled out…as my eye was instantly burning like someone had put acid into it. And there was extreme pain!! As it felt like my cornea or some round part of my eye, was alive and was lifting up and twisting itself to try and detach itself from my eye.. Everyone was quite…but I finally heard a nurse ask what was hurting…I was in so much pain and at a loss for words to describe it all. So I just said it was burning and hurting. She then told the surgeon my BP was high. He added more freezing, asked if I had taken the pill this time, and then continued the operation. I prayed…because I knew I could not get up and leave in the middle of a operation. When it was finally over…all the surgeon said was..”Your very sensitive”. And they kept me a bit longer as my BP was still high. *normally my BP is good. The next day the Doctor gave me extra drops because my eye was swollen. When I asked about what had happened…he just said “your sensitive to pain”…and left the room. I have another appointment in 2 weeks…my sight is getting better..and the black specks finally faded…but their is still a floating haze, that I hope will soon clear up. Could you please explain what happened to me…the doctor seems reluctant to talk about it.
