My wife and I are 25 with backgrounds in civilian law enforcement and the military. We have been following your family’s journey for about two years now. Please know that your content to include the podcast is so inspiring and relatable to some of us in the younger generations. We currently own a home in a HOA, however, as a result of your videos, we have started saving to hopefully one day purchase land and create a homestead of our own. We absolutely love the weekly videos and the dreams that populate for us from watching. Thank you to you both for the continued content! Cheers from MN!

Good afternoon my loving Idaho family 🫶!!! Congratulations on your new expanded land!! I have no doubt that your future generations will run through those fields as your children do now!! This week I ask for your sincere prayers for my family. For personal reasons I can’t get into details but my daughter and granddaughter need all the prayers they can get… I’m still not well myself but they need prayers worse than I do. I carry each of you in my heart and ALWAYS in my prayers …I pray by the time we meet next week that their situation is better… until then🙏🏻🙌🏻♥️🙌🏻🙏🏻

Lookin at your horse barn roof, I can't help but think of the prime real estate for rain water. Have you ever considered a rain catchment system? Tractor Supply has a 1500 gal for $1500. Rhough I'd suggest more like 25K gal tank or so. You'll never have to rely on outside agencies ever. Just put a good filter on it because the stuff in the skies will be in it. Sending you tons of love and happiness ❤

Congrats on the new property guys! You so deserve it. Livin the dream :) That is what my dad did when I was a kid. We bought a 23-acre Christmas tree farm, and then 4 years later, we bought an additional 61 acres that were attached to the original 23 acres. Dad expanded his Christmas tree farm, and we ended up with almost 85 acres total and a much bigger tree farm (which meant a lot more work for me too lol). You did not say how many new acres you bought? Please let us know, we ALL want to know. It has finally cooled off up here in N. Saskatchewan too, and temps going below 0 for the 1st time this fall tonight. Winter is coming for sure. Poor little Ludo...he handled it like a champ. As always, sending love from our acreage to yours.

We burned firewood for 45 years in our ranch home in northern Michigan. The wood stove was in the unfinished basement, directly across from the stairway & the heat would gravity feed up the stairway. We kept 3 dry firewood cords in the basement all the time. It was wonderful to have warm floors all winter long. The issue is that it is very messy & dirty, the firewood bark comes off & makes a mess, spiders, flies, ants etc live in, on, and around the firewood. Personally, I would not store the firewood inside the house. The garage would be a great choice for storage. Where have you stored it in previous winters? What about an outdoor wood burner? It would heat the whole house & there would be no dirt or mess

I might be ahead of myself, but why not put the down spouts of the gutters on the back of the barn, lead them inside the barn at gutter height, through a debris filter and place a big watertank on each side, or lead both spouts to 1 big tank. It can be used as drinking water for the horses and watering gardens etc. Seems like a lot of water to be catched from that roof. 👍😊

Enjoy watching your series, it goes to show what you can do if you set your mind to it. Don't know if you got it or remember it, but I sent you a letter around six months or so ago, concerning when you all were discussing getting a stand by generator for your property. In the area of Oklahoma where I live we get some severe snow and ice storms that come down off of the Rocky Mountains. Had a pretty bad one of those a few years ago, down went power lines as well as several trees, long story short I was without power for around two weeks, I developed pneumonia from sleeping in my house for over two weeks with no heat. When all of this was over I went in search of a stand by generator. I bought a Generac completely self contained and totally automatic, where by you don't have to hook anything up or plug anything in when it is storming outside, which is not to wise to be doing in bad weather. I have noticed that you have a Home Depot in your area, this is where I was able to obtain mine. It will run off of propane, natural gas etc. I know that you have a propane tank already in place, this could be used to feed the generator, it does not burn that much fuel too. This would need to be installed by a certified electrician which could be done next to your utility building, by the way this generator can be set up to where by it will run itself automatically once a week, for 15 minutes to check itself and there by you can be assured it is ready when you need it. When the power drops off of the pole, it will determine that it needs to kick on all be up and running in 10 to 15 seconds, so you never as they say miss a beat, and when the power comes back on it will automatically shut it self off and be ready for the next time you need it. This would have been nice when the power went off while you all were gone recently , a 200 amp unit will now run some where around 5,000.00 to 6,000.00, but again it is well worth every cent of it. Hope that this information is of interest and value, love your show, God Bless. Larry.
