Same here. I'm 43 and this is what I look forward to every Saturday. I hope everyone who sees this is doing ok in life. It's crazy, when young, we cant wait to grow up. We grow up, we wish we wouldn't have taken for granted being young. Life is hard yet beautiful. Getting older is a privilege that some dont get. I pray that everyone builds a relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I pray God gives each of you the courage, strength, and passion to follow His will for your life and that He blesses you all abundantly according to His will and plan for you. I love you all and wish you all well. God bless. ❤ And please dont forget, each one of you are beautiful, special, have purpose, and so valuable. You are never alone and you are loved beyond understanding.

For the yellow jackets, put sevin dust at the entrance at night. Keep reapplying if it gets wet. This will take out the entire nest in about a week or less. They carry that into the nest and it gets on others. It kills the entire nest. Bathroom and whole apartment is looking great! Nevaeh should have a great start in that apartment.

A cliff hanger! Must watch next week! I love watching every Saturday mornings :-),
@tylerbarrett66525 ай бұрын
I sympathize with you, Jeremy. Years ago I used to cut lawns around the neighborhood and I got stung 14 times after running over one of those nests. The guy said he had "taken care of" the ground hornets so it would be safe to cut his grass again... but of course I got stung ANOTHER 9 times. It's not fun. I think what you guys are doing is great!! The family homestead really is what this country was built on... and as The Waltons left the airwaves, I have been afraid that nobody would continue that valuable tradition. Thanks to KZbin, we can see that people are STILL aiming for that same sort of wisdom - but of course it is absolutely crucial that as the younger generation is ready for more responsibility on the homestead, the decision makers delegate and then consult as the homestead continues to grow.. It is essential that everyone get along with everyone, and you guys just continue to lead the way in conflict resolution and steadfast emotional support throughout the whole process. Thanks for sharing this with us... we need thousands more doing the same sort of thing.

Years back while visiting my folks in Minnesota our 2 dogs got attacked by ground hornets when one of them stuck her nose into the hole. My husband and I were inside when we started hearing the dog’s screaming. I was able to lure one of them to the lake and pushed her underwater and started knocking off the hornets. The other dog was frozen in fear so my husband grabbed the water hose and started spraying her down. We rushed both dogs to the veterinarian. They both survived with over 200 stings on each of them but it was touch and go for awhile. An exterminator came out later that afternoon and he couldn’t believe they attacked him since it had been over 5 hours from the attack on the dogs. My dad felt really bad but we thank god it wasn’t the grandchildren that had been attacked since they were supposed to of came over that afternoon.

@skywatcher68645 ай бұрын
It's hornets that are stinging, not the bees. Bees are very docile and keep to themselves. The yellow jackets are very nasty, and have been here, all summer! I had to do away with there nest, as they'd come out and sting no matter where we were...dogs and myself.

I used Hardy backer board in the showers and tub areas for three bathrooms. Screws hold the boards in place with no requirement to fill over the screws and the seams were taped and mudded. No dimples, no fills. After that, the tile was installed. The "Kerdi Systems" seems like a lot more work with a weaker foundation.

Just an FYI - As a person who now has a serious intolerance to hornet stings after too many stings AND being attacked by hornets in my garden where I use very little chemicals, I am now intolerant to allowing hornets to live anywhere my grand-daughters or I spend time outside. As you may know, hornets may attack your puppy, or anyone in your family.

When I was a kid (1970's) my dad hit a yellow jacket nest cutting the hedges in front of our house. He came out of his clothes in the front yard, rinsed off with the hose and then ran in the house naked. My mom yelled at him about what would the neighbors think. "Honey, yellow jackets in your underwear has a funny way of making you not give a damn what the neighbors think". Then mom was mad at him for cussing! Dad's "streaking" across the lawn and shower in the yard became family lore! Its a sweet memory now! P.S. we lived in the country, we didn't have neighbors!

The silver gray, weather worn fence board color is actually more versatile and adaptable than a creamy off-white. You can go shabby chic with off whites from wheat to apricot; even with some chintz or lace accemts. You could go bold with string sports, sailing, or other colors. You could go antique-y to industrial and more.
