Great find. I just got my best estate sale find this week, although thanks to you, I have found many great deals. A pair of Bose 501's in excellent condition with Technics Direct drive automatic turntable (SL J33), Vintage 1986 Denon CD player (DCD 1300) and BSR 14/14XR equalizer/spectrum analyzer. The Denon had $20 on it. I asked how much for the rest of it and the guy tells me the whole pile is $20!! I asked him if the panasonic surround sound speakers came with it and he threw them in as well. Unbelievable. Everything has tested out perfect. I took early retirement this year and this is so much more fun than working in the oil field. Thanks for all your help. The only down side to this find is that the Bose and Technics sound so good with my Kenwood receiver, I decided to keep them. lol

I already resell between my 7 days a week 9 hour day job and do well.. I make half of my rent in profits so I hope putting in more than 10 hours a week on ebay pays my full rent and more.. Happy thanksgiving to you and your loved ones!

Super good find Pete, I love buying sewing machines i find some really good sewing machines all the time. I believe people pass them up a lot because they are not knowledgable enough to understand they value behind them. I recently sold a Singer furtura XL 580 for $500 and i paid less then $20 for it from a local thrift store. Thanks for the video Pete i enjoyed it like always.

As long as you do not have thread in when checking unit you cannot hurt it to test the engine strength...I've sewn all my life so if you need machine advise I also have been repairing my own for 30+ years....
@LindaPalmerTagTeamMoms5 жыл бұрын
Just a heads up on that particular machine. Make sure you actually run it before you sell it. It has had problems with bad motor grinding noises and the needle position jumping around on straight stitch. It also has an automatic thread cutting feature that sometimes will randomly cut the thread when sewing. Hope this helps you and the team. Cheers and happy selling! Linda and Holley

goodwill shopping with my girlfriend a couple of years ago (in a fairly affluent area of austin) for a desk in her home office. I saw the guy bringing out a desk on a dolly, and walked up and asked what they were asking for it; $90; I bought it immediately.... brought the girlfriend over and she liked it too. got home and did the research on it, found the manufacturer in north carolina, retail of $4995; ebay bids in the area of $1800- $2100. the wealthy areas are THE area to search all thrift shops folks.....

My Mother owns a Brother sewing machine dealership and I would be vry hesitant of that machine. Singers are made in a random chinese factory with cheap parts. Ryan is right we get old folks buying them all the time and who knows if they can use it or not we offer free unlimited lessons. The newest machine that we're selling Msrp is $19,000... That machine tho idk man it would be a bummer to ship it out and the person who gets it does something shady so it doesnt come back in the same condition that it left. I would put it in your store for $500 and take whatever you can get.

If people who worked at Goodwill were smart enough to watch videos about stuff like this they could make a decent amount of money, and even if they're not allowed to buy/keep anything nothing to stop them from contacting a friend that can go in there and buy the items. I'm planning to do some thrift store shopping after the new year gonna check out the flea markets as well problem with a lot of people is they want too much for you can make a little money, I found a Silver American Eagle at a flea market guy wanted $40 for it nothing special about it no errors just a normal 1 oz round price for silver was $16 told the guy na I'm gonna pass found another vendor who had 5 of them he was selling them for $5 each I was like wtf I told the man can I speak to you for a second, told him I'll give him $12 for each coin. Ended up buying all 5 of them went back to the other guy who was selling the one coin for $40 said well looks like I did really good I got 5 coins for less then the price you wanted for your single coin. Anywho I'm planning on doing some metal detecting soon as well
@heartlandranchtv49435 жыл бұрын
What year was that silver eagle? You know, many older coins are worth far more than their metal value regardless of whether or not they have any special characteristics. Do you look up the numismatic values online when evaluating a potential coin purchase?
@uwsupergirl5 жыл бұрын
I actually sew. A lot of wealthy women have BEAUTIFUL crafting and sewing rooms and they spare no expense. Then they don't bother to use the machines that they buy. They might get one as a gift from their husband and it's just too technical. So that's probably why it's not used. Grandma didn't use those machines! I have my mother-in-law's 1957 Singer in mint green and it goes backwards, and forwards-and that's IT!

Was told I couldn't take a 15 min break after first 2 hrs of free help and couldn't take a lunch break after 4hrs. When I finally went and sat down on a couch, store manager asked what I was doing and go do this. I told her, I'm taking a break! You can't do that she retorted. I got up and headed for the door. She tried to question me and I told her you better check your federal law babe. Because the government say I can. Left have never been back to any goodwills. No thanks.

I believe the foot pedal on sewing machines should work similar to the gas pedal on a car (the further you depress it, the faster it goes). In your video, that pedal didn't seem be behave that way. It seemed only to provide one speed, and only when depressed fully. I think it should be a variable control. It's probably a rheostat - may just need cleaning.

I'M a HUGE FAN of your channel and love your videos. I was wondering what you think about this comment --- > Ebay can be a shady business especially if you thrift shop … cause you’re dealing with cash. You can say you got the item for $15 at a garage sale and sold it for $25. When reality you could have gotten it for $1 and sold it for $25. To the IRS it looks like a $5 profit but to you it’s really a $24 profit. Might not seem like alot but when you’re dealing with over 1000 items like thrift stores that make alot of money that’s alot of taxes they don’t have to pay. Unless you make a receipt in front of the seller saying they sold you the item for this amount.
